I'm showing my age in saying that Deep Purple was my first live concert when I was 15. That was back in 1974, and I was mesmerized by them. Seriously, they were the best and I watched Ian Paice behind his kit, wearing these big glasses, doing things that only John Bonham had done. I'm a big fan of Ian's, and never get tired of hearing his rhythm played to perfection; which you just did. Fantastic job on giving us such a great performance. Brought back good memories of great music, played by very talented people.

Well done! I am old enough to remember when this song was 1st released. That was the period when the drummer was extremely important in the rock band.. Ian pace was one of the best.. And this song is 1 of the hardest to drum to. You did a great job. I love seeing young people enjoy this music. As a drummer, I especially love to see young women love the drums. That's relatively new. There were no female drummers back when I played

Fantastic faithful rendition. Became hooked on Ian’s playing when I heard the drum breaks on Purple mark 2’s first single, Black Night in 1970. I saw Ian up close a few years ago during his week long residency with the Buddy Rich big band at Ronnie Scott’s. He was unbelievable ... a top big band drummer/rock drummer and a really nice/funny bloke. He had some cue sheets which he looked at before most songs. At one point he looked up, laughed and said “This stuff is complicated you know”. Right on cue some guy at the back of the room shouted out the riff to Smoke on the water and Ian cracked up with laughter. Always my favourite.
You're always playing my favorite songs.. it tells me by your choices how smart and awesome you are..skills and style always perfect..always enjoying what you do.. true rock star!!

Absolutely rocked it! I'd of never guessed that song was that difficult to play until having seen you play it. Not only that, but you played it with passion, and elegance...and looked beautiful doing it, can't say that about male drummers. Love seeing female drummer stepping up to the plate and rocking it like nobody else can.

NOt to be a spoiler or anything...this is really good but it would be awesome to see you playing live with other musicians. Seeing that aspect of your playing and also doing your own version of the song and trying to make it unique and you. I think that is the challenge and the way forward. All these great musicians that played the classic songs we love so much did that. Thats how they got good ..they developed their own style and expression along the way and original music. That is not easy but it is worthy of endeavour I think. Good luck!!!

I bought this album when it came out..I played my brains out on it.. best damn live recording of ANYBODY back then!! you should have heard how loud we had to play the record thru amplifiers.. we'd make the record skip!! hahaha!! it was actually a problem until we got it to cassette, but then the quality sucked!! I saw these guys 5 times during that time... (and many other greats you are playing drums to) Paice should be more than flattered about this.. Because you played this live version EXACTLY like he did on the record. you just did the best I've ever seen anyone ever do it exactly. I tend to add things... hahahaha! Thank you Chiara, it was TREMENDOUS to see it. It made me very happy. you know I just love the sound of your K cymbals. Don't ever get rid of those!!!
