Wanted to buy a Fortuner in 2022 but ended up with a Mahindra Scorpio sle instead because if you compare both cars year to year the price difference is 50%! 12 lakh (Fortuner) vs 6 lakh (Scorpio) This ballpark is for well maintained cars. Scorpio is also a really reliable vehicle in its own right. It doesn't have the same appeal as the fortuner but it would definitely give you the bang for buck if you know which car to look for. IMHO always try to go with a single owner Vehicle. Just my thoughts for those who want a ladder frame SUV cheaper than an Alto K10. Why don't you guys make a segment on Mahindra Scorpio?
This is the most comprehensive and well structured used car guide video I have ever seen... Every info shared was useful and practical! Brilliant stuff Lenny, would love to see some more of this!
My personal opinion if you’re open to other options is to consider a SsangYong Rexton RX7. I bought a 2nd hand one around 3 years back and it’s amazing, and even though I have other premium cars, my family loves the rexton like a favourite child. Bought it at around 40K kms, now after 3 years crossed 1.1L kms. The build quality is top notch. The maintenance cost is similar to an entry level premium car like the benz C class, which is not much for what it offers. You can get all the parts for it in your local Mahindra parts dealer, and it’s usually imported by them from South Korea if they don’t have stock, which usually takes less than 2 weeks time. The car is so comfortable and way more comfortable than the fortuners stiff and bumpy ride. The rexton is an underrated gem, maybe because people aren’t familiar about the brand, it’s basically a South Korean car with Mercedes benz internals (based on the old ML) Just like any car, always get the cleanest example if you’re buying one and service it regularly and it is built to last.
Which year fortuner can I get under 10 lakhs (preferably one with most average cuz my driving is not much and I don’t go off road )how much would be the annual maintenance please

I have a different query. As the GOI banned diesel vehicles of 10 years in Delhi. Will the suit be followed in Maharastra ? Preferably in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur ? Do you have any firm info about this ? These half price heroes are too lucrative/heart-pullers to ignore. Also I don't want to waste 7 lacs on a vehicle which is hanging on the last thread. Sadly, I have to hire new age innovas for every trip with the same money i reserved for such possessions.
@len.dsa88 not now. It's just past monsoon. But AQI worsens in these cities after feb-mar. Also the NGT takes hapazard decisions. Then there's GRAP graded response action plan
Most reliable car is the ISUZU MUX 3.0, you will get this cheap and that 4jj1 is indestructibel and tuneable too.MUX is larger in size as compared to fortuner (check the dimensions). The moment you go to Australia, South East Asia, Bakkies of SA, i realised ISUZU is the real darkhorse which delivers at par with toyota but underated.
Car is good but expensive to maintain, although Head Turner mileage can get 9 sometimes even 7 per litre good space bumpy on roads not a city vehicle rest is amazing
These cars , maybe long lasting, no doubt but can be really expensive to keep up . Old pajero sports , fortuner or endeavour, it is common problem. Also vehicle older than 15 won't be allowed on roads so spending won't be wise. Anyway it is individual choice.
What about 15 years fitness policy in India after that you have to scrap it so better go for new petrol cars or just use Public Transports and Taxis in India because nothing can recover the cost after scrapping it in just 15 years.
@jithinraj7656 They stopped extending fitness in Delhi NCR after NGT and Supreme court orders For diesels it's strictly 10 years and for petrol 15 years after that jai shree ram, PMO's SPG applied for fitness extension of its Costly Bulletproof SUVs in the name of National Security but NGT and Court denied... Rest of India I think it's still happening if you have vehicles in Good Condition
Have any more questions regarding a used Toyota Fortuner? Let us know down below.
Service at every 5k isn’t that harsh
1:00 The later versions of the 1st gen Fortuner also came with the 2.5L turbo diesel.

Thank you so much! 😊
Bought a 10 year used one (4x2 4 speed automatic) in 2022 and recently sold it. Absolutely no complaints. City driving was v bumpy though
Make one Pajero Sport used Buying Guide as it seems likeable option against Fortuner half its price
Pajero is also indestructible 💪
Strong internals
You can watch the Gone but not forgotten episode on the Pajero, might give you some perspective.
Nah.. No spare parts. Worthless
Problem procuring spare part, usually found at 1.5-2x mrp due to low demand
@@vedantdeshpande8474 don't worry about spare it's not a 'BMW'🤣

Please Do This Type of video in Mitsubishi Pajero Sport , it will be very helpful.
Thanks for the suggestion!

How are the spare parts for this? Expensive?
You should do a civic video next. It is most sought after in used car markets
1:09 there was also another engine on offer for India, the 2KD-FTV VGT, basically the OG Innova's 2.5 litre diesel engine with 145 bhp instead of 105.
Nice & informative…Thank you
Thank you 👍
loved the video and the name
Better then new car of 2025 ❤
Please do video on used toyota yaris sedan
Please make this type of video on 2014 ciaz diesel

Review the Pajero Sport and do a comparison video with the Fortuner
Could you please make a video regarding used Škoda / VW cars ❤
Sure, we shall be doing that soon.

1st gen Fortuner values after this video : 📈 📈 📈 📈
Didn't it also come with a 2.5l 140 bhp engine?
It was available here too.
Yes, funnily it was called Fortuner Sport. 😂
Going to pick up 2015 4x4 at soon😊

Isn't this 2nd gen?

We have a yamaha RX for 38 years. Just timely FC and maintenance is sufficient

u r from heaven
What's the rule?
What after it reaches 15 years?
renew fitness by 5 years at a time
Make a video on dicor and storme also
Sure, thanks for the suggestion
Just one question, is this one for sale? 😅
No, this particular Fortuner is not for sale.
👍
made me realise i shouldn't buy it 😂 not affordable maintenance
How can one buy a 2009 model Fortuner in 2025? It has already exceeded it's lifespan of 15 years.
As long as the fitness test is done, it can be renewed every 5 years
@@len.dsa88 Thanks for the info.
👍
IMV... low cost not equal to low price.
It’s 2011 model not 2009😇
15 years over for this diesel suv
who will buy it😢
7 lakhs is little???😂
Yes. We are talking about fortuner not Alto
@ i was not taking about alto or fortuner 😝. You need to open your eyes and read the question again!
Little for a fortuner
👍🏽
After this video, 😂 no guts to purchase used vehicle
Conclusion : Buy the diesel 3.0 fortuner !
DELHI - 😭 this video is not for you
Toyota is deliberately over built , most reliable engine
Not first gen
It is a facelift first gen. First gen ran from 2009 to 2016. Current model is second gen
0 value for 15 years car.
Drive one. It's a legend.
