Hello from New York. I just found your channel but you are quickly becoming one of my favorite UA-camrs. I started photography only a few months ago and I've picked up a few good lessons from you so far.
Fantastic image Stuart (the one at 8:25), and a great video. I admire your persistence on location, and you're becoming a very educational and entertaining youtuber - well done. You deserve many more subscribers.
Some lovely light and well worth the wait :) I took my son up into the Peak District last year and while I was trying to photograph some amazing light coming from behind he filmed me pressing the shutter then running off and ducking to try and get my shadow out of the image. He shared that video with no explanation on what I was doing and I still get ribbed about it today :D
Appreciate the work you put into your videos Stuart, well worth the effort, very enjoyable, and if anyone hasn't seen your pubcast with the 5 other photographer characters they are well worth a watch, have to say I'm enjoyin it since discovering it 2 weeks ago, great stuff Stuart enjoy your trip.
Certainly was worth the wait Stuart. How many times does that happen that you're just packing up/just about to drive off and the light suddenly decides to play ball - too often!😂 Hope you have a great time on Harris and don't bump into any unhelpful dog walkers this time. Looking forward to the video. Cheers.
Nice video Stuart. I sometimes give up too soon but recently developed more patients and got some good results in the last minutes of light. Very enjoyable.
So nice to see someone else who uses the Benro geared head 😁 lovely photos again, from a well put together and informative vlog - your persistence certainly paid off after the dreadful uk weather we’ve been having these last few weeks. Very much looking forward to your pictures from the trip to Harris, and I’m not sure I’ve signed up to your newsletter yet, so the web site is my next stop. Cheers Stuart.
Nicely rewarded ! Have a great trip to Harris, I am off up to Scotland in a few weeks myself not sure how far I will end up possibly will make it to Skye. Cheers
In percentage terms, the probability of that happening for you must be higher, simply because you're there in the general proximity so frequently to take advantage of it when it does happen. That's the key lesson here, I think, is your tenacious persistence. Yet another beauty from Wastwater to add to the many others you already have, albeit taken from another point along the shoreline. I hope the weather and conditions in Harris are favourable for what you have in mind, though I know you'll always have a plan B if not. Is there any kind of weather condition, except torrential rain of course, that stops you from shooting?
Cheers Ian - high wind is the worst to be honest, very rare you can make that work. Rain isn’t so bad if you’ve an umbrella/good clothing but extreme wind can make things impossible
Stunning light at the end Stuart ! Well worth waiting for, those are the days I love the most but equally can be the most frustrating! I’m curious to ask, the first shot you attempted with the shadow in, was it an option to move further back and shoot it with a longer focal length ? To get the sane scene minus the shadow ? Hope you have an amazing time in Harris !
Cheers mate - I did try a longer focal length but the shadow was that bad I’d have had to have gone so far back that I’d have lost one of the clumps of grass which then made it a bit unbalanced
@@StuartMcGlennon ahhh I totally get it, always like to understand a thought process that you go through with these shots, especially having been in that situation before ! Great video as always
You get your reward for sticking it out and wasn't Yewbarrow looking splendid. Have a good time up in Scotland.
Thanks Iain just catching up with comments yep the Harris vid is up now
Thank you very much, Stuart! Patience pays off, great pictures I think.
Thanks Martin
And YES , it was worth the wait , especially the cloud formation in your first image is something outstanding and makes it a cracker !
Thanks Claus 👍
Pretend to pack up, and the light will magically appear, but you got to be quick 😜 Joking aside, great set of images. Love winter in the lakes 🤗🤗🤗
Cheers Simon yeah winter is the best time to shoot at Wasdale for sure
Great stuff Stuart, well worth the wait is right, beautiful shot. Cheers
Cheers Michael

Nice video Stuart! the last image with that light was beautiful!
Thanks matey
Ritsons Force, just up the valley (you’ve probably been there Stu) makes for a nice photo.
I have Andrew many times - nice spot though fallen trees up there lately have made it a bit cluttered round the main bit (or last time I went anyway)
Love the golden glow... beautiful
Cheers David
