The biggest advantage is the price and appearance. The LS coils are much more expensive, and aren’t coil on plug, so you’ll still have a plug wire and need a bit more space for bracket to hold them. These VAG coils are smart coils, but the signal pulls more amperage than say the LS coils or VR38 coils, or Yaris coils, so for some ECMs (like my MS3), additional hardware is needed to safely control them.
@masterofmachines dope, thanks for letting me know. I guess I just assumed The V8 coils would be more potent than those. Red coils that come on, V6's and 4 cylinders. I picked some LS coils up from the local junkyard. So I'm actually making it out with pretty good price for performance. Think I got mine for $10-14 a peace, but those red coils do look pretty sick😎🤑👌.
Are you still running the R200 and factory cross member? If so have you replaced the chassis insulators and diff bushings? Also have you seem welded the member brace I've seen that done so that it doesn't flex as much. Good Build I love the self troubleshooting and research you accomplished. Good learning, thank you keep up the great vids!
I swapped to a ford 8.8 live axle last year. I couldn’t stop breaking stock rear end parts. There’s a 4 vid series on that swap on here. It was pretty custom to say the least 😂
It’s just a cheapo eBay part I think. I think they’re meant for using a Q45 TPS, but I 3d printed an adapter to run an LS1 tps because they’re better looking and dirt cheap. www.ebay.com/itm/403583590925?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=c-f5tglishu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=JQ_diH7QRcu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Loving the content man! Getting some knowledge rapped up to rb swap my zx ! Watching u swap ur z helps a lot with the whole swap process
This is literally my dream build 🥹🥹🥹🥹. This is such a cool project!
It is a small channel, but full of good information.
Car sounds great. What brand/type of radiator do you have in that car? I'm looking for a 3 or 4 core welded unit for mine.
I can’t say on the radiator. I bought it off eBay like 7 years ago. I think they’re harder to come by nowadays.
You need a step drill that goes from 1/4” to 1”. Thy are a life saver and not very expensive.
badass I see the Audi/ Volkswagen red coils, Is there an advantage vs ls/lm Chevy small block coils, just asking for my own build.

Is that an rmr throttle body?
