I did some research and was told in Tanzania you are not allowed to rent a place unless you have a resident, student permit etc...check with the official in whatever country your looking to reside. Check Airbnbs and Lodges are considered, okay. The last thing anyone wants is an officer knocking at your door.

You can rent it but you need to have letters from chairman in the street signature it and one copy for you and one copy for the chairman of that street.
As far as I’ve been told by locals/guides, a foreigner cannot buy on the mainland. You’ll have to purchase through or with a local 60/40. But you can rent. A foreigner can buy and rent outright in Zanzibar.

The old furniture and the the old looking couches and beds, floor tile and bathrooms not selling features. But I enjoy the tours you give in your videos

So most of the properties are owned by Tanzanians

The best thing is to visit first your country of interest and get a feel of it ,that's the best way.People have different experiences.
