The technique called "on rue" , which means shaded gold, is a beautiful dimension of embroidery not often seen. Brenda Kocher, a PA designer and friend of Country Stitchers, has patterns that are created with this technique or stitch method. The INSPIRATIONS magazine had a patterns of Christmas Baubles. And ginormous kudos and blessings to the whole family and how you all “circled the wagons” and got Connor, McKenna and Rhett in their home straight from the hospital!!!! It’s an almost magical experience you gave to the new family!!! I use the description box all the time. I especially like the description of patterns you show, either finished,wips or to be. This way I can go to the shop if I am interested in stitching it and order it. Saves me from rushing to write everything down. Congratulations on your grandbaby. I'm a fan of the description box! Your description of plastic on furniture, made me laugh. Reminded me when as a kid in the 80's we'd visit my dad's Aunt and Uncle. Their house was covered in plastic, including runners all over the floor. We couldn't get over it, or the small of moth balls in the home. They only lived a few minutes away from us, but we never visited often. We would usually see them at my Grandma's house (not covered in plastic). But it was memorable when we went. I'm almost 50 and can remember it! Deb- congratulations on your new grandson!
