@@rccrawlingaddict207 brilliant? It was like this 20 years ago on TLT axles. Glad to see a portal option from Element. But brilliant? This was a cost cutting measure.
@@dezfan if it was one of the other big rc companies I’d no doubt be buying 2 sets and trying to pawn off a couple of rear axles. This looks goofy but it’s definitely a nice option!
You would need a pan hard mount and pan link along with an enduro suspension link kit to mount them. I have the ifs1 with an ifs lift. Rear axle should bolt up.
I just installed a set of these on my Ecto, and I have to say it makes a huge difference with clearance when compared to the original axles. Assembly is easy, just takes a bit of time. The rear lockout is kind of weird, but I am looking at making 4w steer soon.
The lock out on the rear axle is weak sauce. We were doing that on TLT axles back in 2005. Other than that, great to have another portal option in the market.
@@dezfannot sure why a cost saving measure is always assumed to be bad. Also, this is Team Associated after all, give it some time and they'll actually update the parts or provide other options.
What in the world is that rear axle design with links? I’m not understanding why it’s same as front axle with links holding it straight?very strange design.i get it can be converted to 4WS easily but seems to be only advantage. Am I missing something here?
Already breaking with no parts support... horrible Team Associated.... new owners are slacking trying to make too many things instead of a few quality vehicles... and when sales fall off it will be too late..
I was literally just in a hobby shop talking about how I am a element fanboy for life but I've been getting a little bit irritated with the fact that they don't give us portal axle option and here they go woohoo....
Making the rear have the ability to easily go from rear steer to locked is brilliant 👏
Same here....way to go Element!

@@dezfanI agree. Goofy as hell looking
@@dezfan I love cost cutting.

Very nice👍👍, i wish you made futur crawler with front and rear ifs🤩, with t.lock diff🙏.
have a nice day✌️
Nice! Something new is always announced at proline by the fire so am I guess a new portal rig will be there!? Lol
Cool, I like portals. Will we see a DIG unit at some point?
These look great! I’m hyped!
Very cool Element!!!! I will have to get a set!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Didn’t expect this! Sweet!
IFS portals next please.
This is fantastic!!! Way to diversify the product offering. 👍ELEMENT RC FANBOY!!!👍
Awesome!!! Perfect timing as I was contemplating a new build! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why no standard rear portal axle? WITHOUT C-HUBS! 4WS portal Element buggy incoming…
Now that I could see with the buggy craze
Is there an axle mounted servo mount included?
very neat
Been waiting and now y’all done went and did it 💯🤜🤛🔥❤️
Does any of this work or compatible with the ifs2 kit

However front ifs with 4ws? Hmm
Can I still use my SSD brass weights with kit?
Of course not! There's a portal box attached where they mount but there will soon be brass portal boxes.
make them in brass?
Does it work for the honcho? Or is that the same setup, sorry I'm new to element
Will the portals fit the previous straight axles?
Are you going to make overdrive portal gears!
Yes, we will have optional gears available for the rear axle.
I "smell" Axial...i like the center pumpkin ,can i use it (final wheeldrive) with my rear Axial Portal axels SCXlll in my portal axel 6x6 UMG build?
Link to purchase would be nice.
Website doesn’t have them
They have them on their website. I just ordered a set.👍
We need to have individual element INTERIOR KITS it would be well over due. 3d printing them looks like crap :)
How do the portal axles affect the width of the vehicle compared to the stock axles?
They'll make them a bit wider. Not sure how much, but they use the same axle housing so they'd have to.
@@ArdinMcAllister The question is how much.
@@ArdinMcAllisterwonder why they wouldn’t just sell the c-hubs and portal boxes then? There’s a customer cost cutting effect!
@@Toodles77 I'd think the new strengthened axel housings would be worth buying.

Wrong makes rear steering a breeze
@@mgoo1713 made it easy 20 years ago too. Not everyone runs rear steer. A solid rear axle is the norm. This was done 100% as a cost savings measure.
@@mgoo1713true but still a weak point that makes no sense. Cost cutting by making all same mold

Adjustable toe-in is possible.
@@RTmadnesstoo i feel its just a weak point
@@Toodles77 You asked. All the go-fast bashers have toe-in.
@@RTmadnesstoo ah gotcha, yeah I only have one basher that barely gets used. I can see that tho.

Portals axles are overrated... specially in the front 😎
All personal preference IMO. Every rig is different also. Some may benefit where some may lose not
Less stress on the ring and pinion with underdrive in the portal gearbox.
