    Turbines can be classified based on two main factors: head and specific speed.
    Head refers to the height of water column through which the water flows to turn the turbine blades. This head provides the energy needed to turn the turbine.
    Based on head, turbines can be classified into three categories:
    Low head turbines: These turbines are designed to work with a head less than 30 meters. They are typically used in small scale hydro power plants or micro hydro systems.
    Medium head turbines: These turbines are designed to work with a head between 30 and 100 meters. They are typically used in small to medium size hydro power plants.
    High head turbines: These turbines are designed to work with a head more than 100 meters. They are typically used in large scale hydro power plants.
    Specific speed is the speed of the turbine at which it operates, divided by the square root of its head. This is a measure of the efficiency of the turbine and helps to determine the most suitable type of turbine for a particular application.
    Based on specific speed, turbines can be classified into three categories:
    Impulse turbines: These turbines have a low specific speed and are used for high head applications. They are characterized by high efficiency and low maintenance costs.
    Reaction turbines: These turbines have a medium specific speed and are used for medium head applications. They are characterized by low efficiency but high reliability.
    Mixed flow turbines: These turbines have a high specific speed and are used for low head applications. They are characterized by moderate efficiency and maintenance costs.
    In conclusion, the classification of turbines based on head and specific speed helps engineers to determine the most suitable type of turbine for a particular application and to optimize the performance of the turbine.

    Revision: Impulse Turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy into rotational energy and fluid attacks the blades tangentially whereas in case of (....forgot name) turbine three possible attacks i.e. Radially(from centre), tangentially(tangent), axially(along axis).
    Also, there are some losses such as friction, etc.
