    Very helpful series. I've been trying to figure this stuff myself for weeks without much succes and this made me feel good with my bench pretty much instantly. I'll be sure to check out squat and deadlift pillars too.

    These videos are so amazingly useful!! I had so much trouble benching and I thought it was because I was weak and I didn't like doing it all. After watching the first two videos it quickly became my favorite lift :D

    Point of clarification please - leg drive is a new concept for me. Do you initiate leg drive at the beginning of a set and maintain throughout, or initiate /release leg drive with each rep e.g. to guide bar path?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  7 років тому +4

      Want to keep some tension throughout the set but will increase leg drive/tension with the press and then relax it a bit at the top, generally.

    These videos have been so helpful - but I do have a question regarding leg drive that I'm having trouble nailing down. I am a newish (1yr training) powerlifter, tall with long femurs so I have my feet more forward than back. Watching lifters similar to me (Sheri Miles for example) and I can never see the leg drive even though I know they must be using it :/ I'm having issues with timing my leg drive with my press.

  • @HanifCarroll
    @HanifCarroll 7 років тому +1

    This "surge of energy" that Chad talks abut kinda makes it seem like you should only use leg drive after you've touched your chest/paused and you're ready to push the bar back up. I was under the impression that the leg drive should always be active from the moment you unrack the bar. Could someone clarify for me?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  7 років тому +7

      Two different ways this will generally work. Someone with a big arch will basically be at 10 (out of 10) tension in their legs throughout the lift. Those with less arch, will want to have more of a 5-6 tension as they bring the bar down and then drive to 10 tension as they push. Make sense?

    • @HanifCarroll
      @HanifCarroll 7 років тому +2

      Makes perfect sense! Thanks so much, I appreciate the answer and all the content you guys put out.

    What should I do if I do all the back excersises for the bench, but my right shoulder still flips slightly back when I retract and depress the scapula?

    • @saadxislam
      @saadxislam 7 років тому

      Try a lower trap activation exercise, like this:

    Do size of the breasts change the ROM? surely a women with small breasts has a huge increase in ROM? what rules if any are there about this regarding implants, bra's etc

    • @MariaAudioChick
      @MariaAudioChick 4 роки тому

      There are no rules outside of the movement. That's why some have 1 foot arches. I have long arms, a crap arch and no boobs, lol. I just have to get stronger and refine my technique. I've seen some men with great arches too, not as many but if the rules allow it, it's fair play.

    Sick vid, but the bar path illustration goes the wrong way! It should curve the other way, going over the shoulders first, then up. (See the Nuckols articles he references for more.)

      It’s literally no different than some dudes who are barrel chested or overweight.

    • @nukewhales7015
      @nukewhales7015 7 років тому +1

      No fat layer in the world will ever shorten the range of motion by 4 - 5 inches. What if she had decided to have her breasts done twice or thrice the size, so that the range of motion would be like 3 inches?

    • @lutze5086
      @lutze5086 7 років тому

      Roxy Rhodes except a barrel chest isn't an implant. She's obviously strong AF, but if the ROM was larger she wouldn't be able to lift as much...

    • @roxannrhodes188
      @roxannrhodes188 7 років тому +1

      Yeah but why does it matter to you? She’s competing against other women, who may or may not have big breasts, real or fake. She’s not competing against you, so I don’t understand the comment. I also wonder if her boobs were real if the comment would still be made? It’s not like she got breast implants purposely to shorten the range of motion. And speaking of the ROM juggernaut said themselves she has one of the longest ROM in IPF worlds among her weight class.
