Gold is not a alkali or alkaline metal... it's a transition metal ....alkali and alkaline are considered to be a metal...not transition metal. for transition metal oxidation state varies according to their bonded atoms...
Hydrogen has an oxidation no. Of +1 in all compound expect in metal hydrides where it has -1 value Eg: oxidation no. Of hydrogen in NaH is -1 OK cleared (in metal hydride)
