Great little run out that Stuart, variety, views and that sense of freedom only that type of mini adventure provides, might even replicate that this Saturday 6th jan when I next have a pass out! Cheers as always
Thanks - Skiplam Rigg is much nicer than Rudland. I use the Insta360 One RS - it records a full 360 video and then I can sort out the framing of the shots back on my computer. I also use clear lens covers to protect the sticking out lenses (it gets pricey if you scratch one) and I should have swapped them before I went out. All of the scuffs that they've picked up show up as smudges on the final video 😒
@@uphillanddowndale I didn’t know whether you used two cameras, one which you set up to capture your ride by’s as that footage on my tv looks crisp but the other footage from your perspective as you ride forward occasionally seems quite low resolution. Not sure why this would be the case? I’ve been looking into the Insta X3 and haven’t quite convinced myself I need one yet but I do like the originality they offer. I’m currently just using some older GoPros.
The forward facing view is usually zoomed in a lot which reduces the pixel count. Also the camera isnt very happy in low light situations (like forest tracks) and can get very grainy. I'm still trying to find an ideal set up in those conditions. BTW you can also give me some advice - I just looked at your UA-cam page and you have 2500 subscribers! I have 77 😢 How did you get that many?
@@uphillanddowndale 2601 subscribers to be exact but who’s counting. 😂 Perseverance I think is the answer, it took me ages to get to 1000 subscribers and then once I monetised my channel UA-cam started recommending my channel which in turn got me more views, more subscribers etc, etc. I reached 1000 subscribers in December 2022 and the other 1600 subscribers I have acquired in the last nine months. I lost about 70 subscribers when I sold my GSA but I always knew that would happen as there’s always a hard element of BMW fan boys who don’t want to watch videos of other brand bikes. I think the secret if indeed there is one is to produce the best quality videos you can visually but also ensure that the audio is up to scratch. If a video is visually appealing but has poor audio, many people will switch off and search for something better, that’s my experience anyway. I only produce the videos for a bit of fun, I think many people don’t realise how time consuming it can be to create them. It used to take me a couple of days to finish each video but I can generally finish them now in a couple of hours as I have refined the way I edit them. Stick with it and you’ll get there. 👍
Brilliant video’s as always Stuart. Thanks for doing them. Great inspiration to get out on my bike despite the weather.
Thanks Andy - I appreciate the comments👍
I'd been waiting for the rain to stop for weeks so when I got some blue sly I had to get out there

Glad you enjoyed it - if you look in the video description you'll find a link to a gpx file and a map for the full route 👍
Thanks for this third episode, it looks interesting, definitely on my bucket list.
Out of interest, which cameras are you using in your videos?

It was better when it went all the way through to Otterburn 😢
It's a continuous erosion of our rights, isn't it.
