I love how you wear a respirator, but then you just throw your grinding face on. That’s good enough because we all know that eyelashes will stop debris from getting in your eyeballs.
Good to see you guys back at it specially working on another Z-Car!! Last year when I met all you guys at the drift/open house meet… lol. I said I was going to buy a Datsun Z car. Well earlier this month I found one in Ohio and drive out there and picked it up and brought it back home to my shop. It’s a 1974 “one year only” Datsun 260z. Looks like I’ll be having to be doing similar rust replacement work too!🤣 Plz don’t keep us waiting for the next episode of this series..!💪🏼🔥🔥🔥🙏🏻🤣
Literally the best car channel on youtube, pleasant music, video style and just top notch people all around with a good vibe! Could watch these all day!
I've got a 78 280z that has been the biggest heartbreak. Full tube chassis with S14 subframes was the cheapest way to go 😮💨 Super stoked for this series 🤘
When I did my three cars I gutted them put them on a roticery, brought them down and had them sand blasted, it was so much easier to start with clean metal, saved so much time grinding and prepping
SIIIIICK, been sticking around for another mean 240 build! Have you guys ever considered using a car rotisserie few these builds? it'll save your knees and back over the long run, not too expensive either.
Greg, Tim and Xavier, each doing what their absolute best at! A good friday and I'm happy to be here for this entire project, eyes and ears! Have a great weekend guys and take care! Thanks for the video!
ik this wasnt like super in dept on rust repair but my 280 needs fixing in pretty much all those spots so i will be referring to this frequently. thank you boys as always for the heater ass vids.
The video made it look like this was done in a week (still love the video editing). I was thinking to myself, "there's no way this has been done so quickly!". Basically... I'm glad that you said it took months to get the rust out at the end!
Please take some advice put on safety glasses or face shield I worked in a restoration shop and as a mechanic for 35 years and in that time only got debris in my eye once because I wore safety glasses. Also you may consider having car body's like this dipped to make restoration work much faster and easier
What hole punch tool was that, and what size holes does it punch? The Harbor Freight one I commonly see does like 3/16" holes, but I know someone makes one that makes 5/16" holes. Also good to see KF making quality parts like their sister company does for VWs.
I know you guys are pros and I dont lkke to tell other professionals how to do their jobs, but seeing a wirewheel with no safety glasses makes me squint cringe. I've had too many of those little wires fly off and get caught in my clothes and skin to not use safeties.
Hey for real though what would the cost of the rust repair be? The reason I ask is I have a rusty 71 240z. No floors and frame rails need replaced as well as the battery area and the font fenders. All the typical 240z rust areas. I got screwed by a guy once for 3k and that set me back a long time in getting the car started.
This is probably 80-200 hours of labor at $80-120 an hour not including materials. I'd lean closer to 20k, but I'm interested if anyone else knows since I'm doing some of this myself.
hey what advice would you give someone starting from nothing wanting to make their own carbon undertrays, hoods and fenders? my car has a big dent I some spots and replacing it with a carbon skin (can't buy this stuff for a 1994 ford falcon xr6)
4:14 you can make a damage box from an old shoe box, LED strips and some spray paint. Essentially, you take the bottom of a bigger shoe box, cut one wall paint it flat black on the inside (on the smaller side) and put LED strips as straight as you can (using lines drawn on the bottom of the shoe box). The LEDs should be the cob kind, with the "lens" integrated, that way they are uniform, not punctual. And from there you put that box over the area you suspect to be damaged and look from the side of the box that's removed. It will reveal the truth. edit: obviously this is for small damage, stuff you'd miss using big fluorescent light that you spend entire minutes chasing otherwise.
So the tesla powered 32 Ford went the way of the dodo? Or is it being reimagined as we speak. I was so looking forward to seeing that build completed and dropping some jaws at sema. 🤔
This is constructive criticism, I'm not trying to bash you guys. I like your content. However, watching this video, there was a lot of frame judder and color washout. For 4K, you should be able to get much better video quality than you have. Take a look at your video processing process. Are you converting from 60fps to 24fps? This could cause a lot of the judder. Filming in the native frame rate you want is going to be way better than converting. As for color washout, avoid filming line of sight of your super bright shop lights. There are also post processing filters you can use to get better color matching. Sticking to 60fps is likely the biggest bang for your buck for now though, unless your camera can do native 24fps from the start. Keep making great content guys! I love your content. I hope this tidbit helps you guys get that "professional" look and grows your channel.
This is great. That car is going to be sick guys. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth after getting a great video, but is there a FE32 video in the works or is the project parked for now?
There really wasn't all that much weight difference in the bodies of the 240 vs the 260 and 280. The frame rails were extended further to the rear of the latter series and a modest side impact beam added to the doors, and that's about all. Maybe a tiny amount of weight added in the tool storage cubbies right behind the seats vs the very early 240's. The real fat came in via the grotesque bumpers, a/c systems, power steering, R200 diff and heavier 5spd transmissions.
Tim's rocking those safety squints on this project
Safety Third.
He'll learn; the hard way.
Thank you everyone. Love these Zs, so I love to see them worked on.
1 better camera 2 more work less talk. Subbed cant wait to see how it looks in the end.
Those dewalt pilot point drill bits are GREAT for cutting out spotwelds as long as you go slow and don't over heat the bit.
YES! Another project!!! Looking forward to this!
Thank god they’re back to the good stuff
I owned 7 z cars over the years i bought my first one in 1989. They they were born with rust.. recycled steel.
Awesome job you guys are doing
Continued successful track days! Always a sigh of relief and pride when the car is in one at the end of a day/weekend.
I love how you wear a respirator, but then you just throw your grinding face on. That’s good enough because we all know that eyelashes will stop debris from getting in your eyeballs.
It's always a good day when the Banditos of the Street drop a new vid!
Good to see you guys back at it specially working on another Z-Car!!

this is how you get the weekend started!
GREAT to have you guys back!! The craftsmanship and the videography are both excellent, and makes for superb content. :)
I've got a 78 280z that has been the biggest heartbreak. Full tube chassis with S14 subframes was the cheapest way to go 😮💨 Super stoked for this series 🤘
Great video and love the build. Please wear safety glasses!!!! I paid the price for using a wire wheel...
Hell yeah! Glad to see you guys back at it.
Best brothers= Greg and Tim. Be like Greg and Tim
Greg is the best❤
When I did my three cars I gutted them put them on a roticery, brought them down and had them sand blasted, it was so much easier to start with clean metal, saved so much time grinding and prepping
I know nothing and nobody asked, but if it were me I'd go RB over LS for the engine. Loved the video. Subscribed!
Consider using a spot weld drill bit to remove welded panels
SIIIIICK, been sticking around for another mean 240 build!
Have you guys ever considered using a car rotisserie few these builds? it'll save your knees and back over the long run, not too expensive either.
Jazz Flute!!! Great video gents, keep them coming
lmao! all i could think about was ron burgandy so happy you picked up on the jazz flute 😂
@@StreetBandito haha totally. More jazz flute!!!!! I am also a fan of steel drums, don't hear them enough ;-)
Those 8 mil dent fix bits are great heard a lot of great things about them nice work!
Greg, Tim and Xavier, each doing what their absolute best at! A good friday and I'm happy to be here for this entire project, eyes and ears! Have a great weekend guys and take care! Thanks for the video!

Never know when I'll see the last video on this channel.
Gotta keep you on your toes😂
BANDITOS ASSSSSSEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's go boys!

I feel like Tim always has the dopest hoodies
Was just just thinking how much I’d love to see your Datsun on track 😘
Any chance ? Long time listener, amazing work as ever, glad to have you back
always a banger video 🔥
ayeeee appreciate it my guy 🙏🏽🙏🏽
More like “The 🐐 Bandito”
Man I missed watching you all work on the Z
The cardashians are back
The video made it look like this was done in a week (still love the video editing). I was thinking to myself, "there's no way this has been done so quickly!". Basically... I'm glad that you said it took months to get the rust out at the end!
Skimmed through watching with one eye shut.... still got PTSD...did this on my own 280. *lies in feotal position and cries*
It’s tough the first go around but not so bad the third time lol
I'm a big fan of chemically stripping cars in dip-tanks for all-out custom restorations like this... 👍🏻 $2500 well spent.
You guys are killin it!!
Kindergarten Cop reference 😂
Thanks for all you do! Awesome inspiration.
11:50 you removed so much structural elements of the body, without cross bracing it. How do you ensure proper chassis geometry?
He did cross brace the other one he made previously so I would assume he'll do the same in this one too.
So good to see yall back, ready for this series 🤙🏼
Would you guys ever consider tinting the carbon with a candy top coat?
Absolutely. We will test some panels out soon. Maybe make a video on the procees
YOU'RE BACK!
THE GOATS ARE BACK 🐐🐐🐐
Keep the videos coming I want the motivating to fix my series one
It would be crazy if someone built a z chassis out of aluminum and did carbon fiber everything
Can’t wait to get mine done 🔥🔥
New Z content!!?? The best❤
The original Datsun Z. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Welcome Back!

It's 22:57 here over the vast waters or 11:00 pm as you like it. But seems I'm not going to bed yet.

Curious why you chose not to dip the car to aid in the rust removal?
You can’t go wrong with Gersons green panels. We use them on the aircooled vw’s
Another s30? Let's go
Also talking about manufacturers doing goofy shit, jeeps.....🙃 haha
Nice. It's about time!!
Like a fine wine, if you wait, it gets better. 🤫
Aww shieet here we go again!

Reminds me of an old video series about a 240z by Opelfrik
No weld through primer on all the overlapped panels?
hi friend, i noticed you have a hobart 140, I have the same thing. What wire/settings are you using?
nice, enjoying the new content....thx
Aaawwweeee Jinkies!!!!
🫡
@@-DEATHSTROKE brotherrrrr!!!🤜💥🤛 All is well?
Nicely done.
Amazing job guys! keep it up with the sick content! by the way .. where is my Peperoni pizza?? xD
If you have enough hail damage you don’t need metalic
Yay finally an upload
hey what advice would you give someone starting from nothing wanting to make their own carbon undertrays, hoods and fenders? my car has a big dent I some spots and replacing it with a carbon skin (can't buy this stuff for a 1994 ford falcon xr6)
Awesome work
Yess!!! More carbon content!! Love it 😀 😍
How much does a full restoration like this cost?
Bout damn time 😎🤙🏼

Its always a great day watching yall work. These videos are so relaxing and the editing is always so smooth.
Why not send the chassis out to be dipped to remove all rust?
Awesome car, one of my favorites. I'd like to do one..
Have you guys thought about coming up with your own theme or intro music? Something hype.
possibility i always thought people never cared for that lol
So the tesla powered 32 Ford went the way of the dodo? Or is it being reimagined as we speak.
I was so looking forward to seeing that build completed and dropping some jaws at sema. 🤔
A bit of a reimagine/ longer term project
Hey guys, what film editing program do you use?

You guys need to check out my mechanics. He is rebuilding one. It will probably be the best rebuild ever. Definitely worth your time looking him up.
Great work 👌
Thx for the great video !!!
Finally!!!!!!!!
Gonna be a cool series... Please use eye protection.
Why not acid dip the frame?
Man, the new Z looks 1% of this Z and it looks good. This Z look 99% better than other Z
Dude, man, wear safety glasses when grinding and wheeling that man. One chunk in your eye is all it takes.
The early 240s were lightweight tin cans compared to later models . I had one that was made in 9/70
There really wasn't all that much weight difference in the bodies of the 240 vs the 260 and 280. A cleaner shell would have made more sense yah? This seems like a lot but I respect the don't let it die method lol
Kinda surprised Larry Chen wasn’t first in line…
So that’s how you’re going to play it.
Okay, okay.
