It is a beautiful place where many famous people are buried.
In this video, you will see the grounds and the graves of Sharon Tate, Bing Crosby, Bela Lugosi, Rita Hayworth and Fibber McGee and Molly.

I don't know how I came across this video. I clicked on it and seen you video taped the grotto . I was in tears when i see you video taped my grandparents grave. Both were barried there. I go there once a month I miss my grandparents so much. Thank you for the video. I was also a fan of Sharon Tate. Beautiful actress.

My grandma and grandpa are buried there too. I was born in Norwalk and lived in Bellflower until I was 6 and then my dads job moved us to Ohio. I actually miss L.A. SO MANY MEMORIES!!!

My Grandparents , my dad side are interned here, 1957, they lived much of their lives on Bronson Ave about 2 blocks from Paramount Pictures, My grandfather was superintendent of Hollywood Post Office on Cole Ave for a long while where he became good friends with Helen Hayes and sev. others in Film Industry His son my late dad was an aspiring actor during mid-late 1940's in many Off Broadways Plays in Los Angeles Theaters, So, this Holy Cross Cemetery you tube video is kind of Special..... Thank you!!

I find it so interesting that in Georgia in a cemetery like this there is an attached medal vase to these flat plaques in the ground usually containing silk flowers. I've noticed the ones in California never or rarely have flowers at the gravesites - either real or silk. When you drive into one of these in the south all you can see are rows and rows of these vases on top of these plaques with colored flowers in them. It's gorgeous.

Nice video. I love this cemetery. My parents, grandparents and many other friends and relatives are buried in this area. Did you see Jimmy Durante? He is across from Rita Hayworth on the other side of the Grotto. Also, Pat O'Brien is a little farther north from Jimmy. Thanks for posting!
This cemetery is very easy to get to now that the new Expo Line runs from Downtown LA to near the Santa Monica Pier. Culver City, home of MGM and Sony is the city in which this cemetery is located and this one is near Hillside Memorial the famous Jewish cemetery where people like Jack Benny are buried. On thinking about it though, it would be better to rent a car since these are very high hills and it's best to go from the top down. Most of these cemeteries are great when it comes to visitors as George just commented about the gift shop here. Watch out for places like Forest Lawn Glendale though were people like Walt Disney, Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and others are buried because they don't allow you to get to close to much in the great mausoleums there. Things are normally blocked off to access. I find it weird since Forest Lawn Glendale has always advertised itself as a tourist attraction. One person buried at Forest Lawn Glendale which blew me away was Frank L Baum author of the Wizard of Oz stories.
While at an internment , my mom and another mourner stood right in front of Ray Bolger's crypt in the mausoleum. Ray Bolger for any young people watching, played the Tinman in "The Wizard of Oz"

My parents, relatives & friends are buried in HOLY CROSS CEMETERY, in Calumet City, Illinois another beautiful cemetery operated by the Archdioses of Chicago.
my dad was buried here in 1968, my mother in the early 90's, i knew about Bing Crosby and Sharon Tate but not the others you named. interesting!
a little creepy to watch a video of the cemetery (hoping you wouldn't stumble across my folks stone) but since i am out of the area and haven't been there in a very long time, i appreciated seeing the view! thanks for sharing.

The streets would be Washington and National at the Hal Roach Studios, now a vacant lot where a car dealer use to be. Just west on Washington Bl. you will see the Culver City Studios formally DesiLu Studios where they filmed all the Gomer Pyle and Andy Griffith shows along with countless other shos we remember from the 60's.
Allyson Hayes is also buried at Hollycross.
Finally you drew yourself to photograph some other graves.

You started at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, which is on the map you bought. Zasu Pitts and Charles Boyer are also buried in the same side garden as Sharon Tate.
from time to time when watch these videos of celebrity grave sites, I often notice the letters IHS engraved upon the plaques and headstones; and I'd like to know what they stand for.

Does the cemetery provide a booklet to let people locate graves of the Hollywood stars. Fibber McGee and Molly have a stone that does not tell their story. Even Bing Crosby is simple, or that of Rita Hayworth. You'd think the family of Bela Lugosi would have done something regarding his characters.
The headstone must have been changed once Sharon’s mother passed as I’ve seen a video of her mother at Sharon’s grave being interviewed & of course putting flowers on her grave where the headstone was different. I think I would want to be buried with my daughter as well. Such a tragedy that didn’t need to happen. So many lives changed forever and unnecessarily on that day Sharon and the others were killed, and the world saw what true evil was. All those that lost their lives that day in 1969 was shocking and tragic, but for a mother-to-be, Sharon, and her almost to term child, Paul, having been killed especially breaks my heart. I’ve prayed for their souls, their loved ones, but have also prayed we never see that evil happen ever again, but sadly we have. I’ll never understand anyone who can do to another human being what was done to them…So, so sad!
Sharon grave has 4 people in there that's sad .
Sharon's mum and sister were cremated and their ashes were placed on top of her and her baby.
Sad to see graves flattened to the ground to make it easy to mow the grass. Terrain lacking the upright grave stones ... final resting place for so many Hollywood stars.

This place is known as the Grotto. Gary Cooper was here for many years and then moved to a different cemetary.
I Visited Bela Lugosi Grave A Few Years Legend Has It He Was Buried In Full Costume Of Count Dracula Why Wasnt That Put On His Headstone That He Portrayed Dracula And Was The Best Performance As Dracula Dana Rowe

Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez is also buried here. He was the Mexican contestant from the Groucho Marx game show that got him his 15 minute of fame.
