Happy to find this channel!! I've bought a cheap anglo some months ago and played it now and then but no serious studying. Finally I decided to get both books by Coover you recommend , 123 and Pirate songs and my New Year's Resolution is to practice on a regular basis. Today I discovered your videos and your comments and feel very excited. I hope I will be able to follow your footsteps. Thank you! and a happy concertinian 2024 to everyone.
Excellent, hope you enjoy learning! I'd recommend the book I learned this song from; Pirate Songs for Concertina by Gary Coover. I got months of use out of learning that book cover-to-cover, off by heart. His Easy Anglo 1-2-3 book is also very good.
Thank you, that means a lot coming from you. Really enjoyed your books and tablature system, it has helped me become the player I now am. I'm still improving, and I hope you've enjoyed some of my other arrangements using your tablature system
Thanks. It's the Standard Anglo model by Marcus Music. I started playing with a Scarlatti, and after still playing a year later decided I needed an upgrade to improve.
Hello! I have not created this particular arrangement, so I sadly do not have permission to share it. The arrangement is available in Gary Coover's Pirate Songs for Concertina. The link I have added to this video should be to my Musescore "set", containing all the other Sea of Thieves related songs I've arranged. Had a quick check, and the link seems to be sending to the correct page.
How long did you play concertina before you finally dared to play Grogg Mayles? And did you have any experience with musical instruments before that? I've been playing for almost two and a half months now and I can play the melody of Grogg Mayles quite well, but I can't get that "Ooomph - pah" rythm with my left hand done while I play it. 🥲
It took me 6-8 months of learning to be able to play the Pirate Songs for Concertina book from cover to cover. Grogg Mayles was one of the last songs I tackled, and it did take a week or two of practicing most days. I have some accordion experience, but most of it doesn't translate; piano on one side, the buttons are very different to that of a concertina, and the bellows direction wasn't important (if I had played a button accordion rather than a piano accordion, different picture).

Legend.
I plan on getting a concertina, and I want this to be my goal, learn this song.
Sounds straight out of the game! By the way, what model is your concertina?

Hola. Gran interpretación. Queria preguntarte, para comenzar es mejor una inglesa, una Anglo, o una dueto? Gracias 😊
I love Bosun Bill better, but this one is also pretty awesome!
I tied to download the score but the link is going to the Megladon song. Is the link wrong?

hey man ! great job ! learnt this one thanks to you. but I lost the music sheet and the link to musescore doesn't work. would you upload it again ?
Hey dude. I didn't arrange or upload the sheet music for this one. It's available in Gary Cooper's Pirate Songs for Concertina book.
@@AngloKazooieyeah bought the book then. And easy anglo 123. Thx for the advice. Keep it that way. You are amazing !
Can this be played on a 20 button concertina?
Unfortunately it cannot :(
Where can i find the same type of consertina?
This is a 30 button Anglo C/G concertina made by Marcus Music, an instrument manufacturer in Wales
Hello! Is your channel name inspired by Banjo-Kazooie by any chance?
Knew I should've taken up the Kazoo as well to make it less obvious!
