I was at Old Trafford that day, I remember that 45 mins as a Sunderland fan, we didn't get a kick the first half, Paul Williams was the young Sunderland player that day, he didn't play on the top flight again !!
A United legend. Your first goal against Millwall 1989 was my first time to Old Trafford. Will always remember the hat trick at Highbury in the League Cup. Thank you Lee great memories ❤.

A very underrated player. Should never have left United but still had a great career and comes across as a great bloke. Football doesn’t have characters like this anymore
I'm a Sunderland fan and I was at that game at Old Trafford which he said was his best performance for united. And I remember how great he was in that first half. United were 3-0 up by half time thanks to Sharpe. Final score was 3-0
Met Sharpe watching training for Bradford my cousin for some reason had a rugby ball and he played catch with him for a bit. Always watched everything he did whilst at City. I think all us left footers look out for others. Stronger than the goalkeepers union.

I read your book a few years back and it changed my opinion of fergie.
Maybe it was fergies way of keeping your feet on the ground. Maybe he did not want you to suffer the same fate as George Best.

yep, Sharpey was my favorite player, Sharpey, Giggs, Kanchelskis, Ince, Cantona, Hughes, Robson, all great players. Sharpe was so exciting to watch, I wish he got more England caps, he would have made such a difference.
The only decent left footer we had and if he looked after himself and stayed at Manchester United, England could of had Sharpe,Scholes,Gerrard or (Butt) and Beckham midfield

As a Leeds fan - Lee Sharpe gets a lot of unfair criticism, but he was joint top goal scorer for us in his first season and it was just tragic for him to snap his knee and miss a whole year after. Sharpe was devastating on his day and had a magic left foot. Leeds fans are just remembering when O’Leary hung him out to dry when he wasn’t fully fit v Roma, against the best right back in the world in Cafu.

Sharpey --- Do you know how much I tried to copy your haircut when you grew it long in 96/97 at Man Utd. I remember the pics of you in Match where do a photo shoot called "The Usual Suspects" You were in a line up with several other players including David James. And the video of you going "shopping" in your yellow polo neck when you were at Leeds and buying that legendary Ralph Lauren Polo bobble hat. hahah
Great player one of my favourite as a kid. Should of still been at Manchester United during the treble winning team. I know he feels hard done by, by Ferguson and that Ferguson treated him badly but the truth is Ferguson didn't want him out partying all the time and wanted him looking after himself but Sharpe didnt listen, even a little thing like this shows Sharpe's discipline when Ferguson told him not to dance when he scores and Sharpe ignored him and carried on doing it amd even though it seems petty by Ferguson but the fact is Ferguson is his boss, hes playing for biggest club in world starting to win everything, getting paid lots of money and Ferguson can choose whether you play or not so no matter how annoying you knuckle down amd listen to the manager, who in the end was proved correct and Sharp's career went down fast coz of injuries from not looking after himself. Shame he weren't there with Keane during those years could of been Keanes deputy even though Keane and Sharpe only couple years older then class of 92

Robson was united in the 80s and sharpes back heel against barcelona was amazing and capped off a brilliant performance by Sharpe if I remember right.
I definitely think you should of stayed with clubs being allowed 5 subs instead of the 3 for the 96/97 season you would of definitely been involved with champions league as well looking back on old vids I’m always gutted that you left top player and top guy 😊

Imagine he focused more would of only been about 27 treble winning season or maybe younger? And England would of had a midfield of Sharpe,Ince (later Gerrard), Scholes,Beckham at 98, beautiful balance! If only 😢. Still was a great player, and wasnt at a proper club as a kid with professional training and learning how to deal with professional football so everything he done was born with. Probably a tine when he was every kids favourite player, just looked cooler then Steve Bruce and Tony Adams. Sharpe and Giggs if wanted to and played it right would of been Beckham but they didn't want it

Sharpe always played good against Barcelona but don't like hearing him say "id swam there, im gutted" a glimpse of the attitude that Ferguson saw and disliked. If you have a player that would prefer to be elsewhere you can tell
