@ SD Fish and Sips Mikey, you should do a video where you film a very competent angler from the bridge watching him grab a bait from the well, then fish it til he gets bit, watching where he places amongst the crowd on the stern, follows his line, etc. I think people could learn from that.
LOOOOL “ you were walking your pet sardine, Frank”.. honestly, i dont even need to see a video with catching fish, i can listen to this captain spit wisdom all day long.
Love seeing the Captain’s address to the anglers. This is great information and honestly it’s pretty good advertising for some of these boats I want to go on. Just based on the Captain alone. You can tell they know what’s up. Great videos, I’m glad I found your channel 🤙🏼 Keep fishing hard Mikey 🤙🏼
That's my favorite overnight boat I took it out when the big bluefin were here in June I hooked up for 2hrs and lost it at the boat I went right after you posted that video great vlog again Mikey thanks Alot for the update again these are very informative thanks
Thanks Matthew. I will keep including them but maybe try and cut them down to be a little shorter. I just don't want to leave out any valuable information that may help other anglers. Tight lines!!
Nice video as usual. Keep up the great work Mikey. Appreciate the effort you put into it. That fish you had on...that deckhand should have cut that other line immediately. Must have been a greenhorn.
Fishing is like going to grade school repetively and upgrade every year until you cacth your dream fish. Guarantee if you are a real fisherman you don't like spending the money but you'll find your self upgrading your tackle when you lost that big fish!
And here I am, researching videos. Just upgraded to my first XXH setup, and transitioning all my stuff from 1/2 day trips to 1.5+ day trips. Buying fishing gear has become an expensive hobby, the last few months, but i think im finally done shopping. Now gotta start reserving spots on boats.....some are already full for 2022! Its been too long a wait to build up the right gear (in my mind) to be able to go on these longer trips.
I don’t know if your fumilier with the Penn fathom 25nld2 but I use it for yellowtail on my jig stick. I was wondering if I could use it for a popper reel on framers 30 to 90 pound range on my teremar west coast 30 to 65. The specs on the fathom seem to say so with 33 pounds of drag and 430 yards of 50 pound braid. Do you think this setup will hold up?
Most people including myself use braid to fluro and adjust the fluro weight to match the fish. The lighter the fluro the more hook ups but higher percentage of lost fish.
Always great when you include the captain’s game plan speech.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and will keep including the speeches. Tight lines!
Yea I love being belittled and talked to like an idiot for an hour after I spent a thousand bucks lol
No body does a better job of relaying the stoke and experience to the viewer. Keep em comin Mikey!
Thank you so much for this comment Anthony. This is a goal of mine and I love that it comes through in my vids. Plenty more on the way!!

This is a great idea Brian! Thank you. I am going to work on something. I really appreciate your feedback. Tight lines!!

I like the game plan talk on these trips.
Thanks Matthew. I will keep including them but maybe try and cut them down to be a little shorter. I just don't want to leave out any valuable information that may help other anglers. Tight lines!!
Capt Greg has the best speeches. His nickname is "Capt. Proof"

Chaz is back! With the PNW reminder. Bro, I want to get up there bad. Trying to pull of a miracle. How late does this salmon season go up there?
Nice video as usual. Keep up the great work Mikey. Appreciate the effort you put into it. That fish you had on...that deckhand should have cut that other line immediately. Must have been a greenhorn.
Glad you enjoyed it. You win some and you lose some. That's life
Good stuff mikey! Thanks for your content and efforts. Had a blast on my last trip on the mustang as well killed it!
Nice Chuck! Thanks bro. Tight lines.
Excellent
Thank you Mikey. How far did you guys go out.
Thanks Manuel. We were down south about 50 miles near the 425 tuna pens.

Great analogy Tim. I like it. Patience is a virtue. Tight lines!!

Awesome..how far south did you guys go? What area?, I’m jumping on the mustang later today and just curious. Fish on bro
I'll be on it as well tonight!
I think we were near the 425 (40 miles south). Good luck. It’s though pickings right now but there are fish out there. Tight lines!!

i really like the captain and wanted to do a trip this fall ,but to fish 30 on a 2.5 day on this boat is too many for a old man like me.
Was anyone using braid to fluoro on the boat and doing well? A lot of people I talked to that catch a lot use braid to fluoro.
Most people including myself use braid to fluro and adjust the fluro weight to match the fish. The lighter the fluro the more hook ups but higher percentage of lost fish.
Thanks for info!! You use the FG knot?
lets goo
Get Some!!
Why did the Captain say he wanted you guys fishing with topshots? Because of tangles?
I too like to the Captain's briefing . . . but maybe a condensed version - this one was 21 minutes long . .
Good call Kim. Thanks for the feedback. Tight lines!
Funny , do not go to that corner. 1st cast after captains speech. Goes to that corner.
Im planning to go the 14-15
I hope you get em! Tight lines!
haha...why was the captain yelling at the center console?
Getting to close.
That guy took too long at the end to cut the line to free up your hookup. Sorry you lost that bud.
Should of been an instacut honestly shouldn’t of even needed to think about it. Rookie deckhand
That’s how it goes sometimes. The price you pay going on the sportboats. All part of the game.
@@SDFishandSips Really happy that you have a positive attitude.
why wear a cap backwards?
Hey Dan
We as Waterman go Catching not Fishing.
Peace Brothers
Haha. Nice. I personally love fishing. Catching is a bonus.
💯🔥💙👍
Thank you!!
Where's ur skiff
In my garage. I've been fishing off it more lately. It's still my roots and favorite way of fishing.

I’m watching on shore with no bait so I changed my beer 👍🤣
Haha. Exactly!
