Hello . There WAS also a Don Ricardo's Mex Restaurant at Arcadia / Santa Anita Mall . I remember the donkey statue in the restaurant lobby with the 2 "buckets" on his back filled with lollipops. ❤
@frauwolftherehorse yeah i used to eat at don ricardo's when i was a child i remember they give chips. My friend worked at miller's outpost there and his coworker was an MLB player by the name of garrett anderson back in 1991.
I wouldn't say Bullock's ever closed. Macy's owned them for quite a while before. Both Bullock's and Macy's credit cards were accepted. After some time, they finally renamed it Macy's. I remember this as I saw workers in the mall working on the front signage. The store didn't close during the work. If they closed the store for a day just to do final work on some interior stuff, I wouldn't count that as the store closing. It's a renaming but the same store, same employees.
Well, I've had this discussion with others before, but the simple fact is that Bullocks name ceases to exist. I loved shopping at Robinson's May and when Macy's took over, everything changed. It wasn't the same and I stopped going. Service, policies and even selection changed and everything that I liked about Robinson's May disappeared. So I can't really say that Robinson's May never closed. Right?
An error to your video: "Innerspace" was filmed in the former Sherman Oaks Galleria. (Itself demolished and rebuilt as a new mall that only shares the prior's name) The same mall that they filmed both "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Commando" within. (Fast Times exterior shots was the former Santa Monica Place indoor mall.... Now an open multi-story section of the Santa Monica mall on the south end.) Please, if you think I'm telling you a fib, feel free to watch those two movies and notice how the mall interior matches up with "Innerspace"
@@echang1976 yeah I only wish this was from some sort of genius, but it was frankly hanging around those malls too often when I was younger..... I could probably tell you what store was on what floor if I thought about it really hard
They also filmed parts of the movie commando ma With arnold schwarzenegger in that mall. I was trying to be an extra and not movie but the kicked me out i was just a kid. I think it was called sherman oaks galleria
HELLO fellow eric / e. chang friends / mall friends. BREA MALL ( Brea, CA) = I went to Brea Mall about 3 weeks ago and Simon Malls already started work [Sears side] inside and outside the mall. ❤
With malls dropping like flies nowadays, this place must be doing something right!
I was in the part of Bullocks that collapsed in 1994, the day before the earthquake. Scary.
Well done, as I binge watch I notice that the mall anchors in California are different than what I am familiar with in the Chicago area.
Great list of places in the past! Lots of them I would have visited and some I would have noticed, but not gone to!
Was the family Mall during the 70's and 80's. Loved Miller's Outpost. A family treat was to eat a meal at Don Ricardo's Mexican Restaurant.
