In the 70s there was a toadstool craze, I decorated my place with toadstools, and made ceramic toadstools as well, with ceramic elves for the gardens. Fun times. I may revisit that fun time with these cuties this summer
I’m going to send this to my daughter in law. They moved into a home last year and are doing their lawn now. These will be pretty around when sun hits them.
Thanks Luv! I’m going to go have some fun finding some mushroom pieces at Value Village! I love this idea! Clear ones , you can put battery candles on the ground and set the crystal mushrooms on top!
In the beginning, I didn't understand the dots/circles. As you continued, I realized you were making adorable mushroom. What a very creative idea for indoor or outdoor!
I would like to know more about the floor cleaner bit; why? I like it but do not understsnd. Will it wash off with water? Are there other applications?
I'm an Aussie, I don't know if we can buy Pledge floor cleaner here, I've never seen it in shops. There'd be other things that'd work, suggestions please people?
Polycrylic Clear Gloss Wood Finish by Minwax, if you can get it in Australia. If not, any water based acrylic wood finish in a clear gloss will work. Pour some into your vessel (vase, bowl, clear holiday ornament), rotate to coat the inside and pour the excess back into its container. If you use the Polycrylic, it will be a little cloudy at first. Let it sit until it starts to turn clear. At that point, pour in your glitter and rotate the object to coat the inside. Let the object sit to dry (about 4 hours). If you want, you can put more Polycrylic in to really seal everything in. I like to use this because it is water based, so it cleans up with warm water and soap. It also won't turn yellow with age. Obviously, this is more suited to something that will be inside or under cover, rather than being exposed to weather. If you plan on putting the object outside, you might want to consider a non-yellowing epoxy resin instead.
I've been seriously thinking about using cheap plastic dinner plates to edge the flowerbed rather then the average border, what ya think? Of course they would have to be different solid colors.
A couple of actual terms/words to describe the dotting with an almost dry brush technique used here are scumbling or stipple. These are real art terms already in use, and 'pouncing' is what a kitten does when it wants to hunt.
Maitake, oyster, and chanterelle mushrooms would like a word. Also, the one she created here is called a Fly Agaric. It has a flat red top with small white spots and a white stem. Aside from that, it's her garden decor, and she can make whatever kind of mushroom she wants. Last I checked, mushrooms were not clear with a diamond or pineapple pattern cut into them, either.
I used the pledge in plastic ornaments, but the next year all of the glitter fell off of the inside. Is there a trick to sealing it or something so it will be permanent?
You'd better use glitrer ever again. It is so bad for the envirement. Glitter is micro plastic and you'll find it over and over again. So don't use it.

There was a frog craze in the 70s at my Jr high school, every one who liked frogs were carrying them around in school, ( bean bag frogs)
We've gone a little nuts for gnomes.

You could take the top of a Solar light, put it in the bottom of the clear one, and at night it would light up and make a nice diamond light effect.
This idea is adorable! Inexpensive and easy! Thanks!

I would use these on a covered patio or porch but not out in the yard unprotected. I would not want them broken. They certainly cute.
Clever 👍🏻☕️🌹
The cut glass one would be cute with fairy lights inside it.
I was thinking the same thing!

Great idea if you want to be the tackiest house on the block.
There's 8 minutes of my life I will never get back .😢
PLEASE DO NOT glue or drill antique dishes or carnival glass!! Those pieces are getting harder to find because so many are destroyed!!
Love 💞💞💞💞
Barb from the shabby tree has been making these for over two years.
VERY NICE; SO CUTE...!! 👍❤😃👣
So cute
Nice!

Lol I did this and it just looked like I glue a bowl on top of a glass. I tossed them.
Would have liked to have seen a photo of your creation. I wouldn't have had the patience to make what she did.
Mushrooms aren't flat on the tops, they are domed!

Helen from Georgia makes all kinds of sweet things using fast setting cement..checknher out!!
So glad you taught us how to make soapy water to wash the dishes. Learn something new every day. 😏
You can use alcohol to remove the lables
Just use mod podge
First hailstorm and you’ll be picking up shards in your grass. Stick with plastic.
😊👍
Everything looks cute except the white paint spots…they look messy and very amateurish.
Oulik🇿🇦💞
Why?
I can’t believe I spent my time watching these horrors……
Really?
