  • I take you to Kozia street and to Plac Obrońców Getta (Defenders of the Ghetto Square) which during and before the war was named Plac Warszawski (Warszawski square). I am telling you some stories about the place, showing the remains of the buildings and a memory board about Jewish people.

Thank you for your work! My grandparents were from Czestochowa and survived the war. In 2015, I had the privilege of visiting and would love to go back. My Grandma grew up at 7 Katedralna.

I am deeply touched because of your family story. There is the Museum of Częstochowa Jews at the opposite side of the Katedralna street, just infront of building number 7.

1921 is the year of founding the RAKÓW football club. The inscription on the wall comes from the present day and is a fan graffiti. On the other side is the club crest.
Overall an interesting video. Unfortunately, the city of Częstochowa and the authorities are not interested in taking care of the monuments. The city authorities are incompetent and do not have the financial resources. The inhabitants of the city are not interested in pre-war architecture and have no knowledge of the city's history. The Old Market Square is not the central place in Częstochowa, it is Biegański Square that currently functions as the "market square". The district around the old town and in the area of the former ghetto is neglected and inhabited by pathology

Thank you. We only hear about the Jana Gora Monastery in Czestochowa. Rarely about the Jews who perished there.

This street I often heard mentioned by my parents. "Di Kozia Gahs." Looks better than the ruins I saw 10 years ago.
Can you possibly video The Old Market (Stary Rynek)? Renovation was ongoing then and I wonder what it looks like now?
