I just saw the movie "The Blinde Side." Seriously the most heart warming, movie ever. I'm glad we still have good in this world. God bless this family and Michael!
I agree! It was one of the best movie I've seen BY FAR. After the movie, I was just amazed at how loving and kind Mrs. Tuohy was. It's amazing that there are people like that in this world. Anybody that hasnt seen this movie needs to! It is so inspirational. I, too, am going to see it again!
One word "inspirational". If this life story helps another talented young person it is well worth telling this story. I would rather hear of someones successes than the tragedys we read about or listen to on the news. Thanks for sharing this story and I look forward to the movie!!!
I just saw it. You are 100% correct. It is an AWESOME MOVIE. I Highly Recommend it. If More people were loving and willing to help like the folks in this movie, The world would be an amazing place.
Thanks for your more grounded response than mine, tarpgal -Good for you -I whole-heartedly agree with everything you've said -Be Well and Be Excellent...
Its Good to know We still have good human beings still on this Planet...I know nothing about this story until I seen the movie...Its a great family movie...Two thumbs up I would give it more but two thumbs is all I have...
his story is very sad i luv da blindside but hearing itz based on a true story made me very sad nd happy becuz itz gudd to knoe dere r people out dere dat r very kind nd humble
The Tuohy's took this boy in, around their belongings, most importantly their kids. Michael had NO ONE. Regardless of what negative I hear from this story the bottom line shines!!! This is an inspirational story and more people should open their eyes and hearts, including myself. I'm glad you found a family Michael.
Totally agree! How would the Tuohy's know if he would be a football star when they picked him up?? It would be difficult for the media to ignore such an amazing story.
Personally I am happy for Michael, he has accomplished so much for himself regardless of anyone's motives. He has people who he can call family, he has a dream that came true he has more than most have and why can't he have all that without us judging it.
I just came back from an early showing of "The Blind Side." THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING. The best sports movie i have ever seen. Good combo of comedy and emotion.
i am aalmost 19, michael and his storry has totally touched me and my gf, eventually my girl and i plan on addopting a child who has ha d atough life similar to michaels. Thanks michael!
It has everything to do with it -as you're so quick to jump in and articulate what the Tuohys "should've" done -Quit "should-ing" on people and spread your joy where like minds will appreciate it -The inconsistencies? That is the poetic license taken by, either, Michael Lewis or the producers of the movie as story tellers -The main thrust of the movie is spot on -Almost every movie you see is stylized -That doesn't take anything away from the truth of what occurred in this case.
that story is awsometo take in a young man that yu dont even know to give him a chance in life is awsome.I dont care what color you are no high schooler should have to go through what he did.Them people are awsome and he will make sure they never have to work again in teir life
Even if the Tuohy family had intended to do all that you say they are doing they still helped a man become a better man. He seems to feel smarter, stronger, braver and has more confidence and belief in himself. What ever path brought him there is his path and it is a beautiful path non the less. I was inspired by this story and if my bank account were as big as my heart I would do the same thing if not more. It is common for a child to want to follow their parents dreams, adopted or not.
I agree-it reminds me of Pygmalion the play by George Bernard Shaw- poor or rich people -with financial help an education and love -anything is possible
Come on guys this family is a great one to take someone into their home without even knowing them. I do believe that they have a heart. I don't believe their in it for the money if thay have lots of it. They just helped someone that needed help..And to me thats having a big heart and being a great family.. So what nobodys perfect if they lied a little so what they still helped someone in need and thats all that matters.
Michael oher has come a long way he has worked hard and made a name for himself some of you people think the Touhy family was snakes guess what you wasn't therethe Touhy family saw a boy in need they took him in and made him family he is a Tuohy and its not about the money he makes that makes him happy its his FAMILY The Blind side is one of the best true story movies out there but that was just part of the story that Michael lived
If the Tuohy family had a son as big and as capable as Michael, he too would have gone to Ole Miss. In that way, they really did treat Michael as their son. NO ONE takes in a kid like this unless they care A LOT about that person. Michael could have easily been hurt and couldn't play and he would still be part of their family, probably running part of the Tuohy family business. Wherever there is great good some people, but fortunately relatively few people, want to believe the worst.
You can read it or watch it, no matter what you believe it's a true story! I'm sure they may have taken some creative license to make the movie more interesting but for the most part it's a true story! Love is good thing so stop hating!
No -It's not like arguing over which midget is taller. Here's the difference: What people are touched by here is the possibility of what this story suggests, inspiring most of us to become Michael Oher and the Tuohys in our way. If, for some outlandish reason, there was something underhanded going on, it takes nothing away from a grand gift of a greater state of wholeness we are propelled toward. Just think of the domino effect of kindness that could occur...
If you really have such an axe to grind with the Tuohys -Go after them now -I'm sure you can get a word to them -Go ahead and publicly accuse them of what you have been here and see what happens, slick -Oh, thanks for raising my hand in victory -It was nothing -Really ...nothing -Normally, I don't engage but reeling you in has been a lot of fun -and, continues to be with every key-stroke you offer up ...Keep going -We're all dazzled with your brilliance...
I heard that interview and, once again, not playing football til high school is another example of writers' embellishment by Michael Lewis to juice his plot and, takes nothing from the meat of the real story -The Tuohys are very wealthy people with a myriad of options available to them to plug their alma mater. No need for Mike -nothing covert here-If you pay attention to what Michael and The Tuohys say about each other you know the way they all feel and interact as a family is genuine.
See it. Very good movie. I don't care for Sandra Bullock but she was great. I don't agree with the must adopt part. If a family, rich or poor, white, black or something else wants to adopt then they should but no one should be forced to do it.
I havent seen yet the movie but i think is a very inspiring history. I think every white rich famyly must adopt one poor black children so they can have a normal life.
these people took him in not knowing if he was athletic....alot of big people are clumsy and besides i beleive they already have their own money and don't need his.why must people think the worst of a situation because they are miserable in their own lives and can't be happy for anybody?
LMAO!! Oh My! Why you gotta be a bitch if your cry?!?! It's okay to cry! :) The lump formed in my throat when they showed him wearing summer clothes in the winter on the trailer. God Bless that family for real! :)
the thing is they do need his money, they are allready rich, they did it because they are nice people, not to get something for it, i know black people dont understand that concept, but some people just do good for the sake of it and do not want anything in return

I'd like to see this movie. Me and him were born on the exact same day, (year and all)

Michael Oher just won a Superbowl with the Ravens!!!
@MissChowChow84 you couldn't say it better. your comment is like the extra spice that was needed on the board.

And she'll get the Oscar for best actress.
hate fox, but always appreciate a good Rebel. Shepard Smith reps the Rebels all the time, so gotta give him props.
GREAT STORY it makes me CRY (=

cant wait till da movie "The Blind Side"
Nobody said they must adopt him. Where did you get that from?
See it. Very good movie. I don't care for Sandra Bullock but she was great.
I don't agree with the must adopt part. If a family, rich or poor, white, black or something else wants to adopt then they should but no one should be forced to do it.
did you not watch the movie? it took him his Junior and Senior year to bring up his GPA not a semester.
I was responding to ecthelion2005,who wrote, "I think every white rich famyly must adopt one poor black children so they can have a normal life".
He needs a proper hug. . . .
me too!
blind side was the shits! so goooood!
I havent seen yet the movie but i think is a very inspiring history.
