Wow! Great finds! Our Library gets $1 for hardcovers/.50 for paperbacks. Then they have a little store attached to them where they sell books for more money. Like the magazine hard cover one you found...they had something similar for $50! TFS
Awesome finds! My old school's library mostly contained donated books but it's been running since 1897. I was basically holding some pretty rare books in kindergaten. Haha. Gorgeous books.
Yowza you got some treasures! I totally know the struggle. When you are in the store the rationale is.... I'll use it for journaling... And when you get home.... It ends up being part of your "I can't tear into this" collection. 😂😂Great finds!
I just found your channel and this video first! How exciting to find the beautiful garden related books. Those are the type I hunt for at every thrift shop and estate sale! I was especially surprised to see that someone else had found a collection of the vintage Horticultural Encyclopedia! I've sold a couple of mine in my Etsy shop, and kept a few for myself for exactly the same purpose as you! It's so nice to see your other videos thumbnails show you collect some of my other favorite authors as well! Yay, love it!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I didn't (and won't) use any of the old books in my journal making. However they are all past copyright so I can scan anything from them to use. It's not the same though. Not having the old paper in your hands but I just can't tear them up.
That’s really really awesome, what a fantastic collection......Our libraries here in the UK 🇬🇧 have book sales all the time, but never with such amazing array of books. Well done Dawn, your’ll have great fun using them xxx Mags
I am drooling over all your book finds!!!! Our local Library only has sales quarterly 😢. All those gorgeous garden books- totally my weakness too!! Maybe I can plan my next trip to hit one of these sales with you!!! 💜
That would be awesome! It's always the 2nd Saturday of each month. Sometimes I come away with fantastic finds like these. Sometimes I don't find much. Just depends on what they've received in donations or removed from circulation. It's a huge room filed with bookshelves and all sorted by subject matter.
I looked a little online today. Didn't have a lot of time to look but from what I could see, I decided definitely wouldn't be using this one in my journals. Or a few of the others even
I know! I'm so excited! After looking them up online, most are just too valuable to use the originals. I'll have to check the copyrights on them and see if I can scan them
does anyone know of an old social studies book from the 50s or 60s, it was hardback and I think had a drawing on the front of a family in a station wagon pulling a travel trailer...if anyone knows the name I would be so grateful, I loved that book, my mom got it at a yard sale for me in the seventies (the name of the family might have been the Millers)...
I won't. I promise. I always check the value and rarity of books before I repurpose them. If they're aren't worth anything or were mass produced in large quantity, they're usable to me. This book, and some of my other finds, are proving to be rare/valuable and will remain intact in our family library.
those flower illustrations are so pretty!

I haven’t been to a library sale in my town in a couple of years. Thank you for the idea. Now to find out when they hold them.
