Visited the Harry Bertoia Sonambient Barn and studio today. This is his son, Val, as well as me and some other folks on the tour playing with the various sculptures and gongs.

Correct. Nothing is done justice by these videos. It really comes alive when you are in the barn experiencing it first hand. Great experience.

Yeah, you really should excite the beams from the base so the vibrations travel upward.
Produces a very pleasant drone...instead of a clangorous racket.
