I think the cable to the circuit board is long , it's 30" inches, could that be the reason. Circuit board to probes is 12" inches that's ok. Please suggest.
@@CreativeTechos If I understand correctly, you said this one-shot circuit should weld for 10-15ms. But as I look at the formula for 555 Monostable Multivibrators, it is Time=1.1*RC. So your circuit should weld for only 1.1ms with R(t)=1k and C(t)=1uf.
Actually this board was designed for previous project of timer circuit, also relay was needed if microwave transformer based spot welding. But I designed MOSFET based so I reused it in this project. New pcb design for this spot Welding Machine download link is in video description.
Actually this timer circuit was used from the another project, so had relay there that was turned on with bd139, and in rhis project relay had no work there, but still i used bd139 at his place, You can easily use bc547 for led & buzz also.
The pcb and layout in your video is not the same. I found something wrong in the pcb layout in the link you provided. 1uf and 10k are open circuit on one side of the parallel. In fact, it has to be connected to pin 2 of the 555 ic.
You can use any timer circuit to trigger gate but only for mili seconds, triggered gate for just one second will blow fets due to short circuit. And yes please don't use relay triggered model.
well: 1. 200mA from ne555 is not enough to drive several gates of mosfet. Driver for gates is needed (J312 example) 2. if need to protect the gates - you need 15v zener diode on the gates, not a diode 3. you need a powerful diode between +12v (cathode) and the common drain of mosfets (anode). Because the electrode wires at such a high current behave like an inductive coil when disconnected (like a flyback diode for a relay or transformer)
Its very nice and easy to build. I have 2 questions. How many maximum power of battery can we use?? And can we use timer delay relay circuit for trigger?? Please reply.
You need minimum 25-35ah battery for good spot welds, also you can use lithium battery of 2000mah as they ha e higher discharging current. About using relay, it is actually a bad idea, as you know relay have moving pole to make contact to NO / NC pins during triggering the relay moving COM pin will itself fuse with On pin and will not cutoff back so a huge short circuit will happen. Also another reason relay cannot be turned on for mili seconds as MOSFETs have higher switching speed.
very good project, but if doing calculations for the activation time i should be TC 1000*.00001*1.1 or 1.1 ms. Since you are using 1k ohm resistor and 1uf capacitor.
If you already have lead acid battery above 20ah, then the expenditures will few hundred rupees, you can assemble timer circuit on pref board and MOSFET on heatsink.
