@Yonggeun Kim He said ”黙祷”(mokutou) and it means ”to pray silently for people who died or damaged by the disease or natural disaster." That's why players and fans were being quiet for about a minute.
I'm Japanese, but I bought Scottish packs. I took my father to watch rugby first time. He really enjoyed the game and the mood of the stadium with Scottish fans. We will never forget this wonderful event.
Are you sure about that? They organized the RWC so well that some teams were eliminated during the pool stage without playing all their matches. It never happened before, hopefully it will never happen again...
@@leonardobucca5459 but that had nothing to do with organization. It was due to a natural disaster. And it was the IRBs call. At the end if the day its the atmosphere, the people, the games, and the entire package that everyone remembers. @@Sabundy i agree other than the typhoon, its was a great success, but world rugby knew tyohoon season in japan was a risk and they paid the price for it
I watched this match at the stadium. That excitement and excitement comes back. There was no gap between the East and the West, and the stadium was united. It was really fun. I hope the wonderful world will come back. from Japan.
Today is my son's 9th birthday and we're spending time enjoying this game together here on UA-cam. Thank you so much for putting this up in it's entirety. Incredible match and a staggering performance from Japan. Love it! hoping this inspires my boy to continue pursuing his love of Rugby herein the US. Be well all!
Japan were outstanding not just the players but the people as well I’ve never seen supporters with such pride and heart as the Japanese I hope they host the Rugby World Cup again one day from Wales I thank you Japan for a wonderful competition I wish you the best of luck in France 2023 🇯🇵 🤝 🏴

I do hope japan can get to the semi finals one day. Maybe even to the finals. They've got the heart, the passion and the joy. You just have to believe in yourself. Love from South-Africa. 🇿🇦🇯🇵
I love watching the Japan team play ! In my opinion, it is perhaps the only team which still keeps the values and the spirit of the original rugby. Fair play, no willful cheating, the will to bring the ball to life, to play the ball at every opportunity. Speed, skill, pleasure to play and to practice a beautiful game. This game reminds me of French rugby from the 70s and 80s, more physical of course, but the spirit is the same. "French flair" has given way to "Japanese flair" ! Another example, I liked seeing an injured Japanese player coming off the pitch crying, turning around to greet the other players. It's an exemplary state of mind, I think. And I would love to attend a France / Japan match one day in the midst of Japanese supporters ! I am sure I would be well received, whatever the end result. Respect and friendships from Albi, Occitanie, France.
@@rugger1009 i think kolbe's try in the wc final is better because of the players he went past and the importance of the try, but fukuoka's try is amazing
Appauled by Mark Dodson should be ashamed with such selfish comments in regards to the typhoon before this match. Really threw us underneath the bus infront of everyone in this tournament and especially this match. Japan were exceptional. They absolutely deserved the win. Incredible squad.
40:14 that was a nasty head clash, but fair play to the Scottish #5 for his reaction to it. Very first thing he does is to check on Japan's #2, you can see after he's visibly upset about it and then goes over and shakes hands with the Japan #2 and gives a pat on the back. This is what makes the game so special, they play hard but they don't intentionally want to hurt each other.
1:03:37 Kazuki Himeno is a grown man, sit down sir Can we agree that Japan was incredible this world cup, if their squad is anything like this in 2021 and more then I think they'll be in the knock stage again
probably because the Japanese fullback pretty much performed a suplex during the tackle, so Ritchie is teaching him a lesson I suppose. Neither of them is in the right
This popped up as a recommendation and I'm going to watch it again. While most will say Japan vs SA in 2015 to me this may be Japan's greatest triumph. Certainly SA in 2015 and Ireland in 2019 were bigger upsets, Japan was supposed to lose this game. This game propelled Japan further than they had ever gone and put them in the pool stages. It's importance to Japan and World Rugby gets lost behind other victories but to me this one is special.
Came back to watch this again. What a great game of rugby. Forgot how much tension there was. Loved the Japanese spirit so much. Really bummed we played against them in the quarters - would have supported them all the way to the final if they were playing anyone else. Must say I didn't really like how the Scots acted in the lead up to the game when it could have been cancelled. They had a full on tantrum and then during the game their hooker rolled around like a soccer player trying to milk a penality or a yellow card from a completely legal tackle. Lost a bit of respect for the Scots in this World Cup.
Very few people understand the pride and heart the Japanese people have, even in history look at the Russo-Japanese war, the way also japan became a superpower with its small population, it should be a warning to someone who wants to go in battle with Japan, to be honest, if I was a Scot I would be embarrassed about this loss considering the way they complained about the game being forfeited, Credit to Japan, am a Zimbabwean but I got sooooo emotional watching these lads play. Well done JP
The Ireland game was epic, but this is my favourite game of the Tournament. Even though my team went out against England, this to me is the best World Cup in history, even topped 2011 in NZ. Well done Japan...legendary!!!.
