We removed the fluoride in the water for several years and working in the dental industry I saw an enormous increase in small children with their WHOLE mouth was full of rotten teeth. We dont use fluoride on children under 2 but their teeth are still in their mouth, some erupted some still under the gums. With how much sugar is in the diet the small amount available in the water we give them helps remineralize their teeth. Once you use fluoride toothpaste you can go without it in the water. Too much fluoride is not good for you, too much of anything is bad.

I hope the water companies in the UK aren't lying about fluoride in their water. Southern Water state: We don’t add fluoride to the water that we supply. It contains low levels of natural fluoride: less than 0.1 mg/l (parts per million). When I spoke to a dentist about toothpastes without fluoride, she said she was unfortunately seeing a real issue with children's teeth, discolouration, cavities etc. Toothpastes without fluoride probably need to be tested for longer periods than they have been around to see whether they actually protect teeth enough. The main problem is diet, and specifically UPF's, sugar and artificial sweeteners - that is more likely the cause of neurodivergent conditions.
