I agree - Zizzo Liberte is a great bike - I bought one after viewing Brian's video to use as a winter beater bike - liked it too much to beat it up on the salted winter roads and ended up purchasing two more as spares - other bikes in the stable are a Brompton, Bike Friday New World Tourist, Dahon, Ryan Vanguard recumbent, Longbikes recumbent, Greenspeed gt3 trike, and the latest a Pedego Element ebike - adding a motor to the Zizzo looks like a fun project! Thanks for your video and inspiration ;-)
Sure thing. I've been following Brian through his Brompton days. I would love to have a Brompton and ply my e-bike building skills on it. Even the Brompton e-bike version has a lot of appeal to me. While I'm not a big fan of hub motors, that seems like the only way currently to electrify one and retain the folding functionality of the Brompton. I really love the small form factor of the Brompton. I have other bikes, among them, a couple of Specialized conventional pedal bikes I have electrified. One is faster than the $15K Specialized "flagship" model. I live a block from a Specialized dealer and occasionally, I pass someone test riding the "flagship" up my hill, at speed. I just ring my bell, smile and wave as I pass by. It's kind of fun.
@@RoadtrekRich Agree - it is fun to pass the youngsters on the hill! The Brompton is great for travel - I took mine on Amtrak from NH to Oregon to visit my daughter - 80 hours sitting up - Jet Blue home - but had fun riding the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway.
I know that some people wont' agree with me but rim brakes on a bicycle ARE disc brakes of a sort. The rim of the bicycle wheel being the "rotor of the disc brake and the pads being the "pads" in a disc caliper. Would actual disc brakes on a zizzo make it better? Sure. Is it a deal breaker for me? No. None of Brian's Bromptons, $2000, 3000 or more bikes have disc brakes. If a person is going to bomb around on an ebike at 25 or 30 miles an hour or more, they need to be thinking about a comletely different kind of e bike. Will my zizzo go that fast? Yes. Do I RIDE it that fast? No. I have other ebikes much more suited to that speed and even faster.
@@RoadtrekRich what kind of aluminum tubing? is there a specific type to find at the store? i have a zizzo too but my rack always ends up making the back of my feet scrape my panniers what rack is that? is thst the eco rack? thats the one i have, but i have a zizzo via

Do you need to remove the battery to fold the bike ?
Can you please provide link to Brian or link to setup you bought to transform your bike?
