The phone worked perfectly with back housing off, but when I put it on, it touched the damaged battery, and the phone didn't answer. Thus I learned that how delicately you are prying off the battery is not simply important, it is CRUCIAL. I'm sure there is a bunch of common mistakes beginners like me do every day. Do you consider making video about such mistakes?
Is there any way to open the back without the tool? My phone was dropped in water this morning and I fear it'll be too late if I wait until I have the tool
Hi, no it would not be possible since there are screws holding down the covers so would not come apart until the screws were removed. Just try not to attempt to power it on until you are able to take it apart and clean it. You should be able to remove the back housing for now and dry out what you can until your able to remove the covers inside.
It doesn't focus, it's blurry. Only kinda works sometimes in Instagram, no where else does the camera work. Front face cam hasn't worked ever since. It just freezes and I have to exit snap chat, or my camera cuz it gives me a "not responding" message. Heerree weeee... go!
@@PBKreviews k so I saw what looked like water droplets on the green circuit in some areas. Tried to dry it up, but it was more like a gel or maybe like a wax like substance. I couldn't/didn't want to scrape it off jic it was there for a reason, but it looked like it was by a chip section? If I had better tools, lighting, more experience, and not such a shaky hand, I feel like this could be a really fun hobby, honestly.
@@inkbl0t3tatface43 not sure but just mainly dry out any actual water inside and brush off corrosion which can build up around connectors n chips and look like mineral buildup. Aside from that you should be fine. :)

Both new and old charge circuitboards don't acknowledge being set ona charger. Is there some way I should be resetting the device to start accepting a charger plug in after a battery problem, or some other part that could be at fault? Sadly I do not own a piece for volt/watt checking to further troubleshoot. 😅😅 checking
hmm not sure honestly, it might be something related to the IC or something else on the motherboard but I am not too verse in that field to give you any help with that.
Curious as to where the memory/internal storage is located. My 13yo just jumped in a pond with his phone. my though was to take it apart to let all the components really dry out, reassemble, and cross my fingers, BUT, failing that I was hoping there might be a way to hotswap the internal memory into a replacement.
Hi, the storage chip is soldered to the main board and would not be user replaceable or removable. Would require soldering expertise and if there is a shop that would know how to do it, would probably not be cheap.
@@PBKreviews Thank you for the feedback, I got a kit and popped it all open, definitely was still a good bit of moisture inside. I think we might be hosed, but I'm going to let it dry in AC for a few days and then try putting it back together.
Its possible. You would need to take it apart, disconnect the battery, dry out any water inside and brush off any corrosion on chips or connectors with a small brush or tooth brush. Then re assemble the phone and see if it will work.
I just got my new phone, an a12 and instantly has water dmg, makes a buzzing noise occasionally, says its overheating when its cold, and won't charge sometimes, im so mad that I already messed it up, any help for fixing it would be much appreciated
You can try taking it apart, disconnecting the battery cable and drying out any liquid inside as well as brushing off any corrosion around chips and connectors with a small brush or tooth brush. Then re assembling it and seeing if it helped.
Its possible there is corrosion in the phone around the chips or connectors. You would need to take it apart, disconnect the battery, dry out any liquid inside and brush off any corrosion around chips and connectors and then re assemble it to see if it will work. If not its possible the screen has become defective.
well never attempted a phone repair before ive just swapped out the charging board put it all back together turned it on but sadly still struggling to charge the phone regardless to the cable used
My camera and front face camera don't work correctly. I kept it in rice for a bit cuz it got slight water moisture when I forgot it floating in my raft, like an IDIOT! Always ALWAYS check ur pockets.
Once you take it apart make sure to dry out any water or moisture inside and also brush off any corrosion on the chips or connectors. Hopefully should start working again.
My samsung A12 fell on the water yesterday and I can’t turn it on any advice how can I fix this problem? thank you and hopefully you can help me with this.
Hello, I have a galaxy a12 which the power button clicks fine disassembled but when reassembled it just feels like a stiff button doesn't click at all. What could this be please as it clicks and works just fine until I put it in and put bracket on, put back cover back on then goes stiff?
Sometimes the metal bracket on the back housing which is covering and holding the power button in place becomes bent or deformed and causes this to happen. You would need to probably check that and see if its bent and try to straighten it. It's hard to explain but yeah that's the best way I can describe it. You would need to just mess with that metal plate/bracket to try and get it fixed.
Thanks for the video, I'm learning a lot through it. I have a question though; how should I clean the flex cable connection on the pcb? It's surrounded by the rubber gaskets that seem to dissolve with isopropyl alcohol.
I tried to do a screen replacement. The replacement included screen preassembled into frame. All I was supposed to have to do is move the components over. BUT...1) I cannot for the life of me get the battery out..even after warming up the adhesive. 2) I can find only one replacement battery right now on AMZN with only one US review..and 3) I don't know if it comes with adhesive. I have $40 into the "repair" and the phone is only worth maybe $150. What would you suggest?
You can find parts for the A12 at this link, and for removing the battery you can use isopropyl alcohol and get some around the edges of the battery and let it sit for 30 seconds so it eats away at the adhesive making it easier to pry off. I will also give you a link for the isopropyl alcohol. Parts: www.mobiledefenders.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=galaxy+a12 isopropyl alcohol: www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/iFixit-Adhesive-Remover/IF145-400?o=4
can you explain what the blue cord does? because recently my phones screen went back and i took off the back to investigate, and ended up breaking the blue cord
The coaxial cable usually related to the antennas, but sometimes used for other things as well. In this phone I would say its related to one of the antenna.
4:14 So that's where the microphone is located. Okay, I must have missed where the receiver is. 4:29 That's where it is! I need to check to see if the ear piece speaker is off. I could not hear a thing with out the bluetooth head set. 1 hour later. I know why I couldn't hear anyone when I was on the phone. I forgot to transfer the component when I was replacing my phone screen!
@@PBKreviews I had to order another speaker sadly. I tired to pull it out because I didn't have a heat source that was adequate enough to remove the speaker. It still works, but with out it sticking to the metal casing, the sound quality has diminished. However, with this silver lining, I don't have to pay someone else to do it. I have gone through a lot of DIY projects recently in the past 2 months!
Yes, if you are replacing your screen by itself and not a screen with pre attached frame combo, then you will need to apply new adhesive strips or pre cut adhesive if your replacement screen doesn't come with the adhesive. You can watch this video which will explain: ua-cam.com/video/T4iiPUIM7-Y/v-deo.html
Great video, but my phone only works on speaker when I'm on a phone call,,,, if I change the SUB PBA (the charging port and all),,,, will that fix my phone so I can take calls without it being on speaker ???? thank you for your help,,,,
Thanks. It may be possible there is an issue with the headphone jack so the phone thinks there is a headphone plugged in. So yeah replacing the sub board might fix the issue.
After you take it apart as shown in the video, all that is left is to heat up the screen and pry it from the frame. Not much to it. Then you apply new adhesive and re apply the new screen to the frame and assemble the phone again.
No should be fine, just squeeze or press around the sides to make sure the clips or catches are in place and aside from that you shouldn't have an issue.
I have one that shuts down randomly and won't turn on except for few times for about a while then the screen gets reddish and shuts down again , can you help me?
i am having issues with my a12 not reading sim or sd cards correctly, i put some isopropyl on a brush and put that in the sim slot, it worked for a day, but is now apearing to go back to intermittent connection. i think i am going to try again, this time blasting air in the slot. but it is helpful to see that i can repair my phone if needed.
been a while, i though the screen was dead, turns out the screen cable was kinked from the factory, causeing my screen to stop working randomly, if my sim problem is fixed by me trying some stuff, then i will buy a screen and fix the phone. we shall see.
I did replace the screen (new screen with case) of a friend's a12 but somehow now the phone is acting very strange most of the time when I press the power button I hear a vibration but the screen stays black and sometimes he loads up to the point where you have to enter your pin and then it just shuts down... I replaced the battery because he also won't show me anything even if i charge the battery.. It's insane how fast something can break and stop work by a simple transfer.. I have 0 clue what it can be...
You would need to disassemble it (and disconnect the battery cable) to let it air dry completely and then use a small brush like a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion on any chips or connectors to prevent the phone from shorting anything. And then you can put it back together and power it on to see if it will work.
Hi about 8 months ago I left my my Samsung A12 on my car when i got back its extremely hot inside and my A12 was hot. It was 8 months ago when this happend. Will this affect my phones battery? Will this make my battery swell?
I mean its possible it might affect battery life etc but you should be fine. Usually when the phone is above a certain temp, it will display a message stating it or might shut down etc.
It's not too difficult. You just need to get a pry tool in between the back housing and frame of the screen so you can run it along the edges to pop off the catches. You can start off by the sim tray area which is easier.
QUESTION: 1. STANDBY PHONE NORMALLY IS IN TIMED OUT AND THE SCREEN FULLY BLACKED AND PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON IS NOT FUNCTIONING. 2. BUT WHEN CHARGER INSTALLED AND CONNECTED TO THE OUTLET THE PERCENTAGE SHOWED IN THE SCREEN AND IF DISCONNECTED TO THE CHARGER THE SCREEN INSTANTLY ON. 3. IS THERE A PROBLEM of THE POWER BUTTON.
After i changed the screen, i put everything back together, but when i make phone call the other person can hear me but i cannot onlt over the speaker phone or Bluetooth. What you think i mess up with ? Please help to find out the problem i appreciate it 🙏
make sure you moved your earpiece speaker over from your old screen assembly to the new, and also make sure the main board is seated properly in place and everything is screwed down properly since there are gold contacts on the motherboard which touch the gold pads on the earpiece speaker to give it signal.
Really informative for us bro. I have a question. Does RAM of a phone come pre installed on a chipset or do we have to install it separately according to the size required 4 GB or 6 GB?
Im trying to see why my screen lite keeps turning off every time i slightly bump it on while im scrolling through something. It will turn off randomly but the audio of what im watching is still playing. Idk whats going on and its only 2 years old
PBKreviews i just got this phone and my sim card is stuck in the slot the wrong way pretty deep. easy way to get it out or take in to experts???? please HELP!!!!!!!
If its stuck in there, its best to take it somewhere that an expert can take it apart and remove the sim, since you don't want to damage or break the sim reader pins and render your sim reader useless.
What cover? It can be caused by a short somewhere. For example metal touching metal somewhere that shouldn't etc. If you replaced a part, make sure you look at the old one and see if there is any cover, plastic film or rubber gasket that you did not move over to the new part which could cause problems. Sometimes with screen replacements as well, they have films or covers over certain parts of the back of the screen so they don't touch the frame etc.
@@PBKreviews It's right at the end when you snap the back cover in, I could put it back only on the 2 upper corners and i gotta let the other 2 out, otherwise it'll shut off
I guess, not sure. Probably explains why the slot on the frame is there and the board solder points are there since probably the same used in the A11 but ya I guess they are just using the front facing camera as a means to detect light and so forth.

It doesn't focus, it's blurry. Only kinda works sometimes in Instagram, no where else does the camera work. Front face cam hasn't worked ever since. It just freezes and I have to exit snap chat, or my camera cuz it gives me a "not responding" message.
Heerree weeee... go!
@@inkbl0t3tatface43 Thanks and good luck! If there is liquid damage or corrosion around the connectors or chips, brush them off.
Hey I recently bought an A12 and I hear something move around when I (gently) shake it or turn it upside down. Any idea what it could be? I couldn't find anything on google about it.
It's just the camera housings moving around. It's normal most phones do that :)
@@PBKreviews ah ok, it didnt charge anyways so i returned it
Hello! Very informative Sir!
Thanks!
Where do you obtain the accessories that you are using to take the phone apart?
I have links in the description to some tools/parts. They usually can be purchased online.
Excellent video. Is it possible to reuse cameras with a USB connection outside of the cell phone? I'll be waiting. Thanks.
What adhesive do you recommend for phones?
Hi, you can watch this video to better explain: ua-cam.com/video/T4iiPUIM7-Y/v-deo.html
@@PBKreviews Thanks you. I'll give it a watch.
Thank you so much for this video. That copper sticker on the inside of the top cover is silver and has a tab on mine. Do you know what purpose it serves? Mine seems to be damaged and my phone suddenly stopped working...
Hi, if you are referring to the one around 1:34 in the video, it's purpose is to transfer heat away from the components.
Soon, any advice?
I have replaced a battery that smelled like it was going to leak.
New battery was charged at arrival but just declined to death regardless of charger.
Went ahead and got a charger circuitboard half to swap out after, incase mabe I was entirely wrong or it had serge problem cause it before.
Great help for me to replace the power module! Thanks!!
Great video. Thank you for making this.
My pleasure!
Nice video and bro can i ask you some question my samsung A20 phone board damaged by water so still have chance to work ??
Its possible. You would need to take it apart, disconnect the battery, dry out any water inside and brush off any corrosion on chips or connectors with a small brush or tooth brush. Then re assemble the phone and see if it will work.
Nice brother that I learned thanks for sharing brother God blessed
What a great 👨🎓👨🎓👨🎓
Thanks, great video 👍
You're welcome 👍
I just got my new phone, an a12 and instantly has water dmg, makes a buzzing noise occasionally, says its overheating when its cold, and won't charge sometimes, im so mad that I already messed it up, any help for fixing it would be much appreciated
You can try taking it apart, disconnecting the battery cable and drying out any liquid inside as well as brushing off any corrosion around chips and connectors with a small brush or tooth brush. Then re assembling it and seeing if it helped.
Could return it to be repaired if the warranty didn't expire yet
Great, 1000 thanks from Germany!
Welcome!
what should you do if there are random/white lines on your phone screen after water damage in the charging port and headphone jack and speaker
Its possible there is corrosion in the phone around the chips or connectors. You would need to take it apart, disconnect the battery, dry out any liquid inside and brush off any corrosion around chips and connectors and then re assemble it to see if it will work. If not its possible the screen has become defective.
Watching in A12😁
Nice :)
It’s funny all I’m looking for is how to open the thing that’s it. I stopped at @00:46 thanks a lot my friend
You're welcome :)
is there a way to do it without a plastic pry tool
You can use other tools to help you pry it off, the reason I mention plastic is that it wont scratch up your frame.
hi, having extreme overheating issues after teardown. any solutions?
Thank you!!!
You're welcome :)
Is fixing the motherboard won't erase the data in the phone?
hi this phone is have 1 camera correct or the four is work?
All four work. Each has its own mode which it operates on.
well never attempted a phone repair before ive just swapped out the charging board put it all back together turned it on but sadly still struggling to charge the phone regardless to the cable used
I did this on my A12 while watching this video step by step on my A12
My camera and front face camera don't work correctly.
Excellent thanks for a very nice job. ! ! !
Watching in my a12.
Also me wondering to add and fit another speaker on the back .
How do i remove the back without pry tool?
Merhaba usta. Ekran değiştirmek için cihazı açtım. Ama bu anakart da sensör yok. Hatalı üretim olabilir mi acaba
can you explain what the blue cord does? because recently my phones screen went back and i took off the back to investigate, and ended up breaking the blue cord
The coaxial cable usually related to the antennas, but sometimes used for other things as well. In this phone I would say its related to one of the antenna.
thnks fr the video helped me a lot
You're welcome
4:14 So that's where the microphone is located. Okay, I must have missed where the receiver is.
4:29 That's where it is! I need to check to see if the ear piece speaker is off. I could not hear a thing with out the bluetooth head set.
1 hour later. I know why I couldn't hear anyone when I was on the phone. I forgot to transfer the component when I was replacing my phone screen!
lol yeah it happens to the best of us.
Hello there my parents broken my Samsung Galaxy A12 LCD screen could please tell how much does it cost to repair
Amazing video
Thank you
Does the screen need adhesive glue?
@@PBKreviews Thank you for the reply, I just got the parts in the mail and replaced them and now it works great,,,, thank you again....
This video includes frame. What about replacing screen only?
After you take it apart as shown in the video, all that is left is to heat up the screen and pry it from the frame. Not much to it. Then you apply new adhesive and re apply the new screen to the frame and assemble the phone again.
But great video straight to the point!!!!!
Thanks!
My a12 has a gap on the side. Enough to insert a thin paper. Is this an issue?
No should be fine, just squeeze or press around the sides to make sure the clips or catches are in place and aside from that you shouldn't have an issue.
@@PBKreviews I thought so. Thanks for the reply, man
I have one that shuts down randomly and won't turn on except for few times for about a while then the screen gets reddish and shuts down again , can you help me?
i am having issues with my a12 not reading sim or sd cards correctly, i put some isopropyl on a brush and put that in the sim slot, it worked for a day, but is now apearing to go back to intermittent connection. i think i am going to try again, this time blasting air in the slot. but it is helpful to see that i can repair my phone if needed.
been a while, i though the screen was dead, turns out the screen cable was kinked from the factory, causeing my screen to stop working randomly, if my sim problem is fixed by me trying some stuff, then i will buy a screen and fix the phone. we shall see.
Ok let me explain, i bought Samsung A12 like a month ago and acidentelly dropped my phone in the water, how do you dry it of?
You would need to disassemble it (and disconnect the battery cable) to let it air dry completely and then use a small brush like a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion on any chips or connectors to prevent the phone from shorting anything. And then you can put it back together and power it on to see if it will work.
very useful, fixed my wifes phone using this
Hi about 8 months ago I left my my Samsung A12 on my car when i got back its extremely hot inside and my A12 was hot. It was 8 months ago when this happend.
Will this affect my phones battery?
Will this make my battery swell?
I mean its possible it might affect battery life etc but you should be fine. Usually when the phone is above a certain temp, it will display a message stating it or might shut down etc.
@@PBKreviews thanks

@@PBKreviews hi whats the type of plastic used on its back cover?
Did they use polycarbonate plastic for this one?
i did the same like you, but after changings, battery charging only in slow mode and the speaker doesnt work??
make sure the coaxial cable (wire cable) is connected and all cables are connected properly.
Thank you very much
You're welcome!
I need help how does he get it open
It's not too difficult. You just need to get a pry tool in between the back housing and frame of the screen so you can run it along the edges to pop off the catches. You can start off by the sim tray area which is easier.
Thanks a lot ❤
You're welcome
Mine accidentally popped off on the edge a little and i put it back on and snapped, is okay?
yea its fine

Hi Is it normal that samsung original chargers are loose
They shouldn't be too loose.
@PBKreviews thank you for responding
I tried all of that, but it's still the same problem . Maybe o should change the motherboard !
Thanks you 👍

Really informative for us bro. I have a question. Does RAM of a phone come pre installed on a chipset or do we have to install it separately according to the size required 4 GB or 6 GB?
Hi, it comes pre installed soldered to the board.
Im trying to see why my screen lite keeps turning off every time i slightly bump it on while im scrolling through something. It will turn off randomly but the audio of what im watching is still playing. Idk whats going on and its only 2 years old
might have a short or some damage somewhere.
@@PBKreviews thank you so very much for the fast reply. i will for sure take it in. Thanks again.
@@ScarletBlack1989 you're welcome
Why your motherboar looks different than mine if its the same model? 125f
If its the same model it shouldn't be different. If your referring to the color of the board, then that's a different story.
For me when I snap the cover back in the phone turns off, i'm using it without the cover attached, what do I do????
@@PBKreviews It's right at the end when you snap the back cover in, I could put it back only on the 2 upper corners and i gotta let the other 2 out, otherwise it'll shut off
Strange... Why A11 have the proximity sensor while A12 does not... The resources are moved to those two new added cameras?
I guess, not sure. Probably explains why the slot on the frame is there and the board solder points are there since probably the same used in the A11 but ya I guess they are just using the front facing camera as a means to detect light and so forth.

You can back up your data and do a factoy reset to see if it fixes it, or you can turn off rotation in settings so it wont rotate anymore.
