Have you tried adjusting the flushing mechanism for the toilet bowl? The volume of water can be adjusted in most of the mechanism. Mine uses the Geberit and I adjusted it to give me a bigger volume.
As for stainless steel sink, well, it is just a function of use. Different materials have different problems. Granite sinks after a few year will turn white. Black stainless steel sinks will scratch and reveal their silver portion eventually.
