  • In this episode of Mr. P. Explores, I head out to some of the largest sandstone quarries in Lorain County, Ohio on an exploratory expedition to see what's left of one of the biggest industries of an older age. Some amazing structures and leavings from the quarry days surprised even me upon discovery! An old workshop, a stone conveyor belt system and beautiful, forlorn vistas made for an unforgettable early evening trip! Enjoy the lost bits of a huge part of Lorain County history and keep on exploring!
Intro: Grant Lee Buffalo - "Wish You Well"
Quarry Montage: The Raveonettes - "Black Satin"
Outro Music: Ben Folds Five - "Theme From Dr. Pyser"

Hey there, I like your vids. I grew up in Lorain County, in what used to be a small farm town of Columbia Station, near Berea. There are quarries there too, but small, not big like Amherst. They are the old Jaquay Lake and quarry, and Wildwood Lake was at first a quarry. You must be from Ohio somewhere to do all these vids of things in Ohio. I wanted to say I really liked the vid of the Hot Metal Bridge to US Steels Carrie Furnace in Pittsburgh.
