Funny story. If you put the carbonated milk into the fridge, it will slowly fizzle away with time. Not only does the potion of instant spoiled milk be instantly spoiled, it actually unspoils itself with time and gradually gains freshness.

In New York they mix carbonated water with some syrup and milk to make "Egg Cream." It's basically like a soda float, but less sweet. It's actually pretty good.
Sometimes things that taste terrible taste good with one extra ingredient. Unfortunately, as long as it doesn’t have that ingredient, it’ll still taste bad.

The best pancakes I ever made we're because I accidentally used spoiled milk, which I think simulated buttermilk. I wonder if the added bubbles would also make pancakes extra fluffy? Or would they just be full of holes?
Don't know about pancakes, but I've heard that waffles turn out better if you make them with carbonated water, so maybe?

There’s actually a Japanese soda which is marketed as “carbonated milk” called Calpis. It has a confusing taste, going against anything I’ve ever known or learned, but it makes you want to come back for another sip. Especially the banana flavor.
Edit: it’s called Milkis in those parts of the world that aren’t called Japan, if I remember correctly

don't knock it 'til you tried it. calpis/milkis (essentially carbonated milk) is good, putting them on cereal (preferably cornflakes or some other lightly-flavored cereals) was great for me, but yes you do feel like an outlawed alchemist immediately afterwards
Milkis is great, but is it actually made with milk? I thought it was just milk-flavoured (maybe with lactose or something in it).
I thought the international release was Calpico? Is Milkis a different brand? I tried a free sample of it (before they realized that Calpis sounds bad to English speakers) at H-Mart once and absolutely hated it

Calpis is more like a carbonated yogurt than carbonated milk. It has to be otherwise the carbonic acid would curdle the milk.

Honestly the voice acting and sound effects really brings this to life in ways I wouldn't have thought of. I could imagine this as being audio from a movie or student short film or animation.
The music makes this thing pure gold.
I'd like to add that with the addition of carbonated water, you also lower the pH of the milk which causes the powdered milk's proteins to break down and curdle- so, not only do you emulate sour milk by taste, you also get actually spoiled milk :)

Since carbonated water is more acidic than milk, meaning that its pH is lower than that of milk, I am guessing that you meant that you lower the pH of the milk.

Since I made slightly too much I tried it after the customer was gone, immediately thinking "OH GOD THE MILK WAS SPOILED", but I tried the milk and it was fine, thus realizing that mixing sweet milk with something sour/bitter isn't the best idea ^^" The person came back later and ordered a different one lol

You know I was somewhat of an alchemist back in my day, I would mix all different kinds of sodas, juices, and milk, and drink it. Was it good? No! Did I do it anyway with a smile? Yes!
We did that as kids in my neighborhood. We called it fear factor. I had the best "you cant drink this" drink ever. Shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese+milk+soy sauce+ tobasco sauce. Then leave in a windowsill to make the cheese melt, and the milk ferment. Give it a good hard shake. Then proceed to give it to that 1 girl in the group who would try anything.

Carbonated milk drinks are actually a thing (brand: Milkis), ive drank them twice, and I have no memory of the experience from both times.

In high school, I made an experiment on how plants behave in acid, base, and normal pH... I used cola, soap, and mineral water to water 3 plants and put each container in my room. One day, I accidentally knocked off the acidic soil and it just fell to the floor... For a week, my room smells like when you mix rotten eggs with diarrhea

it’s like the cement mixer shot! you do one part irish cream, one part lime juice layered on top of each other and when it mixes in your mouth the cream instantly curdles and makes for a truly awful sensation.

I once did it with pepsi twist, just to test it. I put milk into a cup filled with pepsi twist, it created a foamy brown top, while the bottom was brownish white thick yogurt like spoiled milk. Tasted awful, but it did "detox" my body from both ends quite efficiently.

That could probably be used to make AMAZING pancakes! It would have a bit of the tanginess that buttermilk or normal sour milk would provide, plus some added fluffiness from the carbonation! 😋 But don't drink it lol, just bake with it (I also have not tried this so idk how it would actually taste, but theoretically it should be really good!)

That is a good point. Also if you run out of buttermilk (for pancakes), you can substitute it with milk with vinegar added to it. One tablespoon of vinegar for every cup of milk.
Powdered milk is only good for baking with in the first place, so that checks out.

You can also use a 'Soda Stream" device, which adds carbonation to liquids so you can make soda at home, to carbonate milk and get the same effect. I think Ashens did that on his channel like 10 years ago and also said it was disgusting lol.
Phil Lester also did it 3 years ago, since his parents never let him carbonate milk with the Soda Stream. 😋
