As a 70 yr old Grandpa and father of 4 daughters who I taught to drive. Two of them manual trans. I am with your Dad. He handled a learning driver with this big block, manual steering and open differential just right. This thing will burn tires, swap ends, so fast will make your head spin. It’s a great car, just because it’s old don’t think it can’t put a learning driver in a world of hurt. My money is on Dad, he will teach the kid right.
I learned to drive a manual transmission when I was 9 years old. I later drove a 500 hp 5 speed mustang when I was 12. I think the Biscayne is still one of my favorite. He does teach me right
Next time you go on a test drive, leave the old man at home. No reason for him acting like he did when you pulled out of your drive way. Garry Fuller Sr
Glad to see you up an going that serge problem can be any thing from a plug ,plug wire skipping spark on headers grounding out carb problem vacuum problem keep it safe an good luck
Good job fellas. Nice to see it went to an actual car builder, and not some schmo that talked a good game and then filed it in the weeds next to the shed out back to be forgotten.
Back in 1966 there’s multiple engine options like 427 big block 425 -380 Horsepower 396 425-375 horsepower big block after the 409 was disconnected after 1965 plus 327 and 283 small block Chevrolet V8 and 235 inline six cylinder engine options the 454 came in 1970 but the 454 is a suitable conversion for this car as a/ door sedan conversion just a info
I had a 66 caprice 396 4speed 12bolt posies manual steering and brakes buckets console factory gauges same color with a black vinyl top it was called a sport coop wish I had it today
The Caprice and Impala were sporty and top of the line while the Bel Air and Biscayne were base models the names and wheel wells and taillights are different and the rest were similar in my opinion
My 65 Meteor is manual steering manual brakes want to get it on the road but it keeps breaking starters, one of the 3 bolts for the starter is busted off in the engine.
Take mom from now on.
dad is too cranky.
@@erivon2234 I thought I was a cranky dad. Ha ha.
I love that big block in there. It’s fairly easy to put in power steering and disc brakes.
I would have done the same thing Jack, just floor it, see what you can do. I think Dan from DD speed shop would be proud of you.😊

You can change anything you want. If you need to put power steering on it go for it. I was wondering what happened to this car Thanks for the video
Ya gotta flip that air cleaner lid for performance reasons. Your dad will understand
I have to put an air cleaner on it
DD speed shop would love to see this car on power tour
Need put power steering for sure that would be the first thing i would do.
Sounds like you have some carb priblems.
I have just a few
My 65 Meteor is manual steering manual brakes want to get it on the road but it keeps breaking starters, one of the 3 bolts for the starter is busted off in the engine.
Dang, I hate to hear that
@@lucky_jack_racing yeah, its either drill it out or find another solution. I already busted off a bolt extractor in it.
Leave dad at home what a grouch
glad to see its back on the road but fire your dad get mom back in there
I will
We called it strong arm steering 😂!!! As long as the car is moving the steering is easy pezy !!!
It is!
Drove and raced couple impales, power steering is your friend , also sounds like lean condition with carb, great job guys
Great car.
I'd put power steering and power brakes on it....disc brakes... Save your money up and tell everyone you want car parts for presents.
I already do that and I am getting parts soon.
dad wasn't so bad.
Jack what do you want for those gold Moroso small block Chevrolet valve covers???
I like the GM beast body cars
👍👍👍
Sounds like some ignition & carburetor malfunction misfires at low idle….But looks good!!!
Little overprotective sometimes I would rather my boy get wild with me in the car then a bunch of his buddies
The cursed biscuit
