Except thanks to Kyle Posey, we've all seen the tape. It's not Aiyuk's fault that Purdy isn't throwing it to him when he's wide ass open just because Aiyuk said all that stuff about Jayden Daniels. Purdy's been forcing the ball to Deebo & Jennings (thankfully Jauan was Mossing guys out there). Why else would he not throw it to Aiyuk when Aiyuk is wide ass open and Purdy is standing there for 10+ seconds. It's not like he threw it to someone earlier in the progression or didn't have time to scan the whole field. It would be one thing if he overthrew him, but he didn't even try to throw it to him. We all know Purdy has great vision too. It made no sense.

I may partially blame it on working too hard to save starters in the preseason. Aiyuk and Bell wasn’t a factor. Brendel and McKivitz looked sleepy, slow and unreliable. Campbell should not have made it out of preseason too. Who coaches the special teams? Not throwing the challenge flag on the dropped Rams pass? Poor coaching is the question? Yes is the answer
giving this pod a listen for the first time and I won't be back. Crocker's Purdy checking down and not throwing the 70 yard pass to Ayuk "changed the way we see Ayuk's game" is one of the stupidest I've heard. You don't think Ayuk dropping two other balls and failing to get himself open over and over again for three straight games had anything to do with how we see his game? When you hold out for top five receiver money and then don't show, YOU bring the criticism on yourself. Trying to somehow pin that on the QB who would've been 28/29 on completions if not for 6 drops is asinine.
Fair, he wasn’t why they lost, but you HAVE to throw to the wide open receiver on potential game clinching TD at the end of the game. If you trust Bell more than Aiyuk, that’s a problem. Wide open is wide open and that’s the right throw. Always. It’s not fair to Purdy, but that’s the difference btw great and just great stats. When the D and special teams fail to show up, you gotta put on the cape. Repeat, he’s absolutely not the reason they lost, but again he could have won the game.
Seriously and them saying Brock was only "good" after all he did with his legs and throwing on the run is crazy. The comparison between the aiyuk and purdy evaluation from brock is crazy. Purdy has to be perfect to be good, but aiyuk gets a "it's not on him" when he drops passes.
@@shannonpeacock3509 so you are saying that we should be making unfair and irrational arguments? I mean, OK, but it's hard to argue with someone who is intent on being irrational. Yes, Purdy could have made that throw and I have yet to hear why he did not, although let's be frank 70 yard throws are not his game. But on the list of things that impacted losing this game, this is about 25th down the list and to even bring it up is just stupid. The only reason to bring it up is if somebody has an irrational dislike of Purdy's game or is being an Ayuk apologist. again, I like Ayuk and he has been a great performer for the team in the past, but even he admits his hold out went on too long and it's clear it's impacting the team negatively as well as his personal play. There's just no getting around that and trying to pin it on the QB is ridiculous.
@@drbeatdrums so I don’t think I called you stupid so I think you’re out of line there. I thought I made it clear in English that I don’t blame Purdy for the loss. That would definitely be irrational. I simply pointed out the fact that he left that play out there. He wasn’t 70 yards down the field at the beginning of the play. He was wide open in the first 10-15 yards. Purdy hit him on a 50yds in the air strike in the NFC Champ. So maybe tone down your rhetoric and perhaps read what I said more carefully? I thought I prefaced it clearly. I just think if you wanna win a SB you can’t leave those plays on the field when you’re playing the best of the best AND the other 2 facets of the TEAM (to clarify, the defense and the special teams who were absolutely the highest on the list of reasons they lost). Amongst getting too many calls from the refs and no holding calls on his Oline, Mahomes finds a way to make it happen. If this continues and he doesn’t have help from the rest of the team, if they’re gonna have a chance in these kind of games, he can’t miss that and be considered great. If you look at the formations put out there it's more on the defensive coordinator than the player's and Kyle once again refuses to run the ball while winning at the end with the same result.

I get what your saying with the whole take what the defense gives u thing but that doesn’t excuse the 4 Ayuk dropped and the thing is you can go to Jennings even if the defense wants to commit to taking him away the same can’t be said for Ayuk. Even the best version of Ayuk wouldn’t be worth this kinda money.
People always blame Coach, when all he’s done is make absolute GOLD with this team and puts the points in the board every single week. Let’s really talk about a defense that has as least 2 future hall of famers, yet, wouldn’t be able to stop my high school football team from scoring in a big game. When it matters the most.. this defense ALWAYS fails. Yet, the offense can take the lead in the Super Bowl in over time (regardless of how many points, they took the lead in overtime in the superbowl!) the offense routinely makes a play in big time games. This defense routinely loses games and it’s time to change
I can’t get on the “it’s the defense bandwagon”…we all know our secondary is sus and is clutch on the big stage. I think it’s a coaching issue. Maybe Kyle is predictable. It’s nice when they KNOW what Kyle is doing and can’t stop it, it SUCKS when they know what he won’t do and then they air it 40/50 yards down field. The 49ers are methodically a steady pace team and CANNOT play when their nerves are on edge. It’s like they’re playing like a casual fan vs a pedigree of professional, punch you in the mouth football. 🏈. We’re 1-2…seen worse, but it seems like that’s the anger and frustration the team requires as a collective to overcome and get a handful of Ws. We can blame it on the Super Bowl hangover, we can blame it on the grind…but guess what? The chiefs have 3 rings in the last handful of years and they HAVE that “IT” factor. Pisses me off…
Purdy didnt play well, he played great. Were not talking about Purdy not throwing to Aiyuk if Bell catches that deep ball. Had 8 incompletions and 6 were drops.
When you are in control most of the game and win in stats as the 49ers did, then you have to look at coaching and play calling in crucial moments as reasons for losing. It seems to me that Kyle spends more time looking at his clipboard or Ipad than watching what is actually happening on the field.
Niner's need to put the ball deep in the air on offense once or twice a game. Purdy rarely takes deep shots down the field and defenses are starting to not worry about the deep threat. Not one deep shot down the field on a go route, that just can't happen.
