I'm gonna get the iM as my first car , I'm a college student and the '99 Camry my Mother got me when I was 17 in 2014 is nearing the end and the iM is affordable and looks great
Just purchased my first car which happens to be the iM I'm so pleased with it but i totally agree with you on the key situation. I don't like push to start or switchblade keys, I fear it'll malfunction one day and I don't like extra buttons 😂
Taylor Ruckner I know I mean like the "IM" is practically an Auris with a sport pack or something. Why don't Toyota just bring over the auris and have a fully customizable Toyota to compete with the other compact hatchbacks on the market. Like any scion, there were no trims just one model, color choices, and some accessories. For example they make a corolla hatch with all different trim levels. Know what I mean?
Rumor has it that Toyota was caught off guard with the death of Scion and the models that transitioned kind of suffered for it, 2018 should bring some much needed changes
It's a fixed key? My brand new one (2018) has the switchblade configuration. Also for everyone else reading this: dealerships are practically giving this away. Got pearl white for free, cvt free and a bunch of accessories, plus almost a grand from the dealership and $750 from Toyota. Paid $17500 before taxes, $19k out the door.
All Corolla iMs have the switchblade key...my wish would be for either a keyless system, push button start or a fixed key (fixed key as in a standard key that doesn't swing out). Hope that clears it up. Also, congrats on a great price for your new ride.
I really wish it had push start instead of a key. The only thing making me want this over other cars in the same price range is adaptive cruise control, but I'm not even sure if it's worth it at this point
I have an iM for 3 years now. No issues whatsoever. Just regular maintenance. By far one of the most reliable car I've driven.. Bought it when it had 31 miles in it in 2017. I averaged more than 15k a year. Around 70k, I passed it down to my daughter. The car currently has 92k on it. Still no issues yet. It's a great daily driver. If you care about performance, then this isn't the car for you.
I own a Scion version of it, and please, beware - if you use your windshield front mode ventilation even without a/c mode on, this car gives you very pronounced vibration on the steering wheel while you standing. It's very annoying. Toyota admits vibration but claims its as "normal" for this car.
Rearward vision was poor. I was excited to be offered one for a very reasonable $15,700 base form. I could put up with the long throws (plus TRD has a shift kit available)and only so so power. But the lack of seeing out that tiny back window was a deal breaker. Manufactures need to learn from the Germans on making a roomy interior with windows you can See out of. Back to restoring the MK2 GTI. I DID love the iA. Very fun. A little bit louder on the highway than the iM, and a less roomy back seat, but the steering was more direct and the car felt more responsive. But for long term ownership and longevity the Corolla based iM is a great Bet. Seeing that I keep cars generally over 16 years.. it is still on my short list. Oh! I like the late 80's VW style seats in black and white dots. Very New Wave.
I bought lately à scion im cvt 2016. Im no fan of performance car and im 56 yo. This car is nice, smooth and comfortable but it is the most boring car I ever owned. I also miss the space and practicality of my old matrix. I just hope I will benefit the legendary toyota reliability and longevity.
Sylvain Bélanger yeah I’m 19 and just bought one lol I feel like I’m gonna hurt the car if I give it some gas... but I’m just using it to build credit then I’ll get something fun.
I think Toyota did the right thing! These second or entry level vehicles are appealing to younger buyers and quality throughout at a great price!
Now make a video on how do u get those strong calves. I'll watch it for sure.
Lmfao

Sodiq Odeyale Congrats on your future iM. Great choice!
lots of $ for a first car.
Intro was on point.

Kimberly R Just got mine too! First car as well!!!
Thank u. You were very clear and the production was really well done. Keep up the good work. I'm buying my I'm this week. !!
Peter Lynch thanks for the props, sincerely appreciate it!
They need to make a Corolla TRD with some added horsepower and torque! 185HP and and 160 ft lbs of torque.
If only the iM get the free safety tech treatment ,like the Corolla. I'm all in. I need dynamic cruise control.
I'm hoping we'll see that in 2018 MY.
Thank you. You're doing a great job.
They should just bring the Auris, so you can have the full possibilities of a Toyota
It IS an Auris...!!!

I'd love a performance trim for this, maybe a small turbo motor.
I love switchblade keys!
Only Toyotas Bleh.
Dude! I follow you on IG & had no idea you had a UA-cam channel until just now lol awesome vids!
CincyDad thanks for the props! And following!
So the IM is basically the new Matrix
stankwho hope Toyota offers AWD option in 2018.
or the vvti-L engine just like the 03-04 xrs :)
still wondering why they don't offer the diesel engines or the new 1.2 turbo like they offer here in Europe.

Great video.
Benjamin Menges thank you!
def the only thing missing is a moon roof

waiting for the version with the 250 horses under the hood. the Im GTI.
Shit... 170 woulda been fine. The only thing i hate about my iM is the damn lawn mower engine... 😣
No mention at all about fuel economy and range on a tank of gas?
Is that a after market bike rack on the iM?
Richard Gonchar No sir, that is a Sea Sucker "Talon" bike carrier. Check them out online, quick and easy bike carrier on the fly!
Thanks for getting back. Im getting my iM this weekend and that bike rack will come in handy. I just SUSCRIBED. Thanks again
Which is better... the Corolla im or the 2017 corolla se fully loaded?

when i drove this car, the one thing that annoyed me was the key fob. its too chunky. and the switchblade urghh!
What is I M means anyway ?

Alexander Nikolaev I'll have to see if I can duplicate.
