I was stuck between choosing either the 2016 Scion iM or the 2017 Corolla iM. With your review, I made the choice to choose the 2017 version of it. Even though both are similar, the 2017 version comes with Toyota Safety Sense C. Now I want to point out that the turn signals on the mirrors aren't really LED. If you look closer, they're actually incandescent bulbs, but it's still nice nonetheless. Great review.👍
My insurance company really likes the Safety Sense C. Of all the cars I've shopped, the iM was quoted as only margianally increasing my insurance payments over my 2000 Civic. They said it was because of all the safety features.

Cuico Amar yesterday I got mine up to 100mph on the freeway and it was struggling... but all and all 10/10 every person I've driven in it loves it. Also looks really bad ass at night. Worth every penny. Actually I think the car should be more expensive but that's just me.
I was half way sold on this car until I have driven it. Besides being a bit under powered, the main deal-breaker for me was the lack of view from the windshield. If you are a tall person and are coming from a SUV or truck that has good visibility, especially from the front, you will know what I am talking about on you sit in it. They need to analyze GTI front view or even the Veloster so they can redesign this car to make it one awesome compact vehicle.
I think the best color for this car is electric storm blue, which I have. It has more pop to it especially when it's waxed, compared to the other colors which are dull compared to electric storm blue.

Just so I know it isn't me. The car doesn't have a trunk button from the driver side correct? You always have to press the rubber button on the actual door right?

Our work program had those exact car models. Only 1 of them had a crash and was brought back to our job parking lot. My girlfriend was in that car, along with another coworker. A lovely lady that was driving, wrecked, 😲 soon after they went out eating in Bellflower, CA. Scary.
I own a Scion version of it, and please, beware - if you use your windshield front mode ventilation even without a/c mode on, this car gives you very pronounced vibration on the steering wheel while you standing. It's very annoying. Toyota admits vibration but claims its as "normal" for this car.
Was excited, cause i love hatchbacks and i have respect for corolla. But, i was disappointed about alot of lack of features(maybe the dealership i have just has the basic). What it lacked was. 1. No push button start 2. No sunroof 3. No Power seating 4. No gps navigation I have a 4 runner limited, so my standard is a little high. And I'm looking forward to getting this as well. I'll wait a little longer and hope for a more sport type package. I don't mind the extra 3-4k for the features I'm use to.
I have the iM and I absolutely agree with you. Although car navigation units are way behind cell phones, so even when I had more expensive cars, I still disliked their fancy, but obsolete nav units. I miss push button start the most though.
There's a job coach I know. Her name's Della. This was the exact car model she drove while she took 2 of her consumers out to eat. Not long after, she got into a car wreck. The left side was badly damaged, and it's still @ our job's parking lot. Isn't it time the tow truck picked it up and take it to a junk yard? Now that same young lady that drove it, got terminated! She recently moved to Anaheim, Ca & got her a better job!!! 💔💔💔 Shouldn't she get over it?

Rear vision is terrible. That tiny window. I drove a 6 speed manual. I would buy it despite the not so great MPG and so so performance, if I could SEE out the back of it. It was discounted left over 17 for $15,700. I just felt like I was in this really big heavy car that was not really very communicative with so so mpg.. and not even vision out the back. Not a big fan of the shiny plastic piano style on the dash either.
This is a great product but cheapened by not providing any other colors but black interior. Common Toyota, give us some interior color options instead of just black. for my taste it looks pretty ugly when the interior of a car is all black.

I was wondering when you shift away from P does the doors automatically lock or not, and when you shift back to P do they unlock automatically?
