Banjo-Tooie had much less stuff to remember cos of note bunches, so it didn't have to do that, and DK64 used the expansion pack. The Indigo Experiment DK64 didn't use the EP for that. The EP increases RAM, not storage. The game just had a glitch that made it crash and using the EP fixed it.
Huh! Learn something new every day. Now I need to obsessively catalog how many total banana bunches there are to collect in DK64. I should be studying right now.
