Confused about LPC or SQE?
The entire process of qualifying as a solicitor is changing in 2021 when the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is introduced and it is one of the biggest transition in the profession has ever seen.
In this video I have explain how to become a solicitor in UK by using the route of Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), the centralized assessment to become a solicitor in England and Wales.

The Solicitor Qualification Exam route will be considerably more cost-effective than the LPC, and it will take you a lot less time to qualify. However, it is expected that there will be a low pass rate for the SQE assessments, which might make the SQE route to qualification more challenging than the LPC.
The course takes eight months to complete. Other postgraduate SQE preparation courses have been developed by institutions such as the University of Law, QLTS School and BARBRI.

Useful stuff! One thing i would like to correct is that the SQE1 consists of 2 SETS of 180 multiple choice questions and NOT 90 questions. The exam is given over two days and it lasts for 2hr and 30/40 min for 180 questions and then the same on the second day.

Hello friends, I need your advice & suggestions.
I stayed in UK between 2008 to 2012. Before leaving UK, my friends have taken my debit card & cheque book from me & used it for illegal activity. That time I didn’t know the consequence of the act. Now that my wife is moving to UK for onsite. Now I need to come to UK along with my wife for work.
1. Will there be any issue, if I revisit UK and work there.
2. Is there a solicitor in this group who can guide me on how to deal with such scenarios?
3. Do I need to submit from old social security number for my visa.
4. How long will banks keep such records?
5. Will i be granted a Visa due to the illegal activity which has been done 10 years before.
Actually you can still do the LLM/Lpc and qualify as a solicitor. UK still allows the option of of LPC. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s what I found out. Thank you.
It has a certain date, if you have registered yourself before that date, only then you can attemp LLM LPC nd other barrier is that universities not offering lpc anymore and it's assessment wise a bit difficult , why would someone chose outdated course with tougher assessment

Sir like u said we’ll get 3 attempts by paying fee once. You mean that if we fail sqe1 once there are two more attempts we can do without paying fee? Once paid 1558 then we can attempt thrice in the same fee?

Depends upon your profile, english profiency certificate only acceptable if you had good marks in english throughout your educational period. Otherwise you need to do IELTS or any other english certificate

i think one can clear sqe without GDL or not is another discussion but legally he or she is elligeble for that
I haven't seen anyone going into SQE 1 and 2 since September 2021, SRA has different rules and they allow direct entry but universities do not allow someone to join their SQE courses without GDL, Now if you study online and give exams of SRA directly that could be an option because this is how we will skip going to university but you ll skip going to Uk as well and they wont be PSW option even after SQE certification

I think you are a bit wrong here.. I Called Soliciters Regulation Authority(SRA) their operator told me that I can appear in SQE without any conversion course means with non qualifying law degree ..Please do recheck it.
I have checked it a thousand times with my Pakistani, Indian and bangladeshi applicants but you can still take a risk and apply directly to SQE 1 and 2, it ll only waste your £25 on Lawcabs.com

How shall we get exemption from SQE 1 and SQE 2 on bases of work experience in Pakistan or India? Is it possible that we get exemption from SRA after we provide with certificates and lot of work experience in South Asian Courts or judicial system?

Preference to Corporate law. You can do LLB in which ever field you like it won't matter that much.

Hey, quick query sir. Is GDL important? After graduation from BALLB (Hons.) and work ex in South Asian countries is it possible to directly apply for LLM Legal Practice SqE1 & SQE 2 ( eg. at UofLaw) or do we have to go through Postgraduate Diploma in Law Route necessarily?
From what I read on the website of SRA, I am of opinion that I can take the LLM option and give both the exams. Am I mistaken or is my assumption right?
PGDL is university's requirement not SRA's, if you hold any other visa then you wont need PGDL to do SQE 1 and 2. PGDL is only required when you follow the tier 4 student route.

You Can Prep For SQE 1 and SQE 2 on PSW but it will be like wasting your PSW, most of the time you will waste on study instead of finding job leading to skilled worker visa, you will pay the tuition fees anyway, why not extend your study visa ? You wont need bank statement while applying from UK, how come dates are clashing ? Remember tuitions dates and assessment dates are diff

They said you’ll be coming in January so you can’t immediately start your LLM in September because for extending it you’ll have to complete the PGDL first, have the final transcript with you. And the LLM starting in January is not a full time course, it’s really confusing! The one that begins full time is in March then.
Look your course will end in September but you will have three month extra visa which should end in December, this is true that you wont be able to enroll yourself in September, but for january session you can apply way earlier in September and you can apply to different universities for January intake, many universities will offer LLM with SQE 1 AND SQE 2 in January

I dnt see any scope in Pakistan, people just do it for the honour. Stirling uni might accept you without IELTS

1. 4th yr + 5th year of law from india (2 yrs work as an intern)
2.ielts exam
3. Admission in llm with sqe directly
4 after 1 yr during sqe exams beginning the carrier for lawyer in uk
3 you cant go for SQE directly, you ll need to do one year pgdl or ma law in conversion course

Sir, i have a Law Degree from India (5year law degree), is it equivalent to UK law degree ? Or is it not ? I mean i have to go for PGDL or my indian Law degree can make my admission directly to SQE courses ? You must know as you said in one video that you have 50% of viewers from india.
