Thanks for the video, it helped me with my annoying rattle on my 2017 F350 King Ranch drivers seat. I did a couple other things that only took me about 30 minutes to do the whole job. I left the drivers seat in my truck and raised the seat all the way up. I was able to slip the two elastic straps around the retaining clips located under the bottom of the seat. As mentioned, the zippers were a little tough to move with my finger and thumb so I used a large flathead screwdriver to push the metal zippers all the way up and past the tough spot. You will see the flat spot on the zipper where to place it. Next, I undid a velcro strap at the rear base of the seat that held both sides of the seat leather in place. I raised the seat back up as high as I could and squeezed my hand up to release both head rest containers out of the seat. There is a little spring clip to the top left of each container you push in on and they pop right out. This allows you to completely raise the seat back all the way off the top of the seat so you can get to the 7/32 screw holding in the counterweight in place (mine was broken off at the bottom making the rattle noise). I puled the weight out and did not replace it as it is suppose to stop the seat from rattling if nobody is sitting in the seat. Since it was the driver seat there will always be someone sitting in that seat... duh. Anyway, I put it all back together, took it for a spin and the rattle was 100% gone.
I have a 2022 Lariat only 3 weeks old and I have that rattle as well. I hate that noise and very noticeable because the rest of the truck is flawlessly quiet. I will get the dealer to look at it when I’m in for my first service. I will show them this UA-cam video if they don’t believe it.
Remove headrest and you get direct access to top screw. UA-cam has a video on removing headrest also. This video did help but I looked a little further and found both videos made it really simple
Hey Jeff: Awesome video, I able to learn from your "issues" and did the job complete in 15 minutes, piece of cake on my 2016 Lariat. I did not remove the seat. Also I did drill out a hole in the foam on the top side and socket dropped right in. Thanks much, I love UA-cam. Paul
Thanks for the video Jeff! Hey Paul! Can you provide more info on how you complete the job on your Lariat without taking out the seat? I’d like to work on my 2016 Lariat as well.
Just fixed mine on my 2016 Can be done in the truck but I see how it could be easier out of the truck. I found it easier to pop the head rest guides out to help remove the top screw.
Not a beast really. Leave seat bolted, pull up zippers at back of seat, remove headrest, remove headrest clips then remove screws from stabilizer top and bottom, then R and R. Mine was broke at the top. I Epoxied the connections let sit for a day and installed putting good side to the top. Been a few days and still all good.
No reason to take the seat out and go through all you did.. just an fyi. All that needs to be done is unzip the seat cloth / leather or vinyl on both sides and then release the clips / elastic from the seat bottom. Unzip zippers all the way to the top. My rattle in my 18 was coming from the yellow bars not what you replaced, took me about an hour to do mine, I just zip tied the yellow bar's to the framework and bam no rattle!
Jason, I tried that originally but couldn’t get a good view of anything. So, taking the seat out was my next best option. It doesn’t take long to take out the seat plus gives a good opportunity to clean under it really well. Glad your fix worked for you.

What a god awful design, I thought it was my right side doors rattling.
