Thanks Craig, seeing you do it makes it a quicker learning experience. Too many people say "Well you're an expert of course you make it look easy," but the whole point of this exercise is to show us it can be done and I appreciate that, thank you!!
Thanks for this! I’m looking to do a similar fix on my sofa until I can afford to get it completely reupholstered. Would a normal furniture staple work ok or should I invest in one like yours?
Do you mean the staple gun itself? if so you can use a hand stapler if required but it could be hard work or you could go old fashioned use hammer & tacks, if you want to use one like mine which is pneumatic you would also require a compressor. Hope this helps?
Questions: I am going to try this on a Gothic carved side chair my husband sat down on a bit too hard and the bottom fell out as they say. :) I can't find anyone in my town who does this. I don't have a power stapler, just old school staple gun...but I will buy a stretching tool for sure...a question on the hessian, 8 oz or 10oz and what exactly is the thread called? I managed to get the strapping jute material already. thanks!
@@craighughesupholsteryoffic5077 I don't find 'mattress twine' online but I did see everything from Jute to an Italian Waxed twine which says use for upholstery springs...But they don't show it sewn through webbing, only tying springs together...Looks like you used a thread but I don't find a linen jute thread either, only jute or thinner upholstery thread? thank you! Great video
@@craighughesupholsteryoffic5077 thanks well it is def. a product sold in UK, not seeming to find it anywhere here in US. last question and I will leave you alone...what is the mm size of your thread and I will keep hunting.

That was a great tutorial. Can I ask what that stapler is please?
It works on compressed air, that particular make I was using in this video is made by BEA!
Looks easy!

The thread is mattress twine. Either 8oz or 10oz if it's only for the bottom.
