I will miss him greatly, such a story teller, always kept my interest with a chuckle thrown in here and there. My best to his family and Hank , and Charlie, keep those stories going in Heaven.
I was shocked when Charlie died and now Hank. My deepest sympathies...Hank reminded me of my grandfather..with that sparkle in his eye telling one great story after another...I hope you find a way to press on. Your show is the real treasure!
My husband and I were so sorry to hear of Hank's passing. We enjoy watching Mysteries of the Superstition Mountains and will miss The Old Story Teller and those beautiful blue eyes.
I know how much time you two spent together. You were virtually inseparable. May all your wonderful memories comfort you during this heartbreaking time. RIP Dear, Hank.
No its not lost. Hank Immortalized the legend anyone can find the motherlode thanks to this mans dedication of sharing the true stories of everyones efforts to locate the next wild carnival.
I am sorry to hear of Hanks passing. I have enjoyed many hours listening to his stories. He will be missed. I am sure that all the Mysteries of the Superstition Mountains has been revealed to him.
Oh, I'm SO sad to hear about Hank...he was my favorite story teller. He will be sorely missed by all. I just wish I had seen him at the museum, we've been there twice. I also wish I had seen his book, I'd definitely bought it. Rest in peace, Hank.
I'm still saddened by the loss of Hank. I could listen to his stories for hours, but im happy that Larry is continuing on with the show. I love this channel dearly
Such a loss.. I feel like I knew him by the wonderful way he wove a story. He painted such great visions about the mountains and the people who were part of their history.. Rest In Peace Hank.. you did good
I learned of his passing in the newspaper and couldn’t believe it. I love this channel and love the stories he was able to tell about the area. I always hoped to maybe meet him someday. He is a legendary man. Rip Hank.
So sorry to hear about Hank. I’ve never heard a story teller that could captive an audience like he could. He will definitely be missed. Prayers for the family. God bless
Hank had a one of a kind personality, he will be missed…R.I.P. Hank Sheffer you were one heck of a storyteller….we need to protect Larry at all costs, with Charlie and Hank we lost some amazing stories….if you guys need anything, I’m West of Phoenix.
Very sad news, he’s in good hands now. Condolences to his family and loved ones. You all have been amazing to watch and Hank was such a beam of light. Larry, you are also a beam of light for the superstition community and I know I am grateful for what you all do!
Without this channel we would be at even more of a loss of historical information with his demise. I am saddened by the passing of Hank, as he was a favorite teller of mine. Thank you for all you do and condolences to his family and friends, as I would presumptuously like to consider myself a friend of his if I had the chance in person.
Hank seemed like the kind of guy we all need to know. What as wealth of knowledge he had. Thank you for capturing him here. RIP ol Hank. You are loved forever!
The Superstition Mountains were one of my very first experiences after moving to Arizona in August 2009. I fell in love with those mountains and that wilderness as much as I fell in love with Arizona as a whole. Larry, Charlie, Hank, Jack San Felice, Ron Feldman, Tom Kolenborn (although I never had a chance to meet Tom), along with others, have been instrumental in my education on all things Superstitions. I'm grateful to all of you. Hank will be missed, without question. His unique storytelling style was something I looked forward to when new episodes of Mysteries were dropped. I look forward to future episodes and the continuation of the legacy. Happy Trails, Hank.
Oh No, Hank Will Be Missed But Not Forgotten - Just Like Charlie, Time Moves Forward - Never Forget History - Thanks Brother, Larry...Our Hearts are Heavy...and a Loss of Words...RIP - Brother, Hank...God be With You...Say Hi To Charlie...Not Forgotten...As WE Walk Through Life...
RIP Mr. Sheffer. He was one of those souls that I wish I knew. His storytelling will be missed. He and Charlie are surely telling stories in a better place.
Many prayers to his family and to you, part of the crew, you guys who make all these stories possible. I was deeply amazed upon seeing he passed to that Western Land in the sky. He is already missed. I enjoyed all he had to tell.
I enjoyed every story Hank told and will miss him telling them. Mysteries of the Superstition Mountains is my favorite UA-cam channel and I'm glad to hear the stories will continue although it will never be the same without Hank. Thank you Larry for all you do for the channel all the knowledge you share with the viewers. Love hearing you tell stories also and look forward to you telling them as you're able since they take an enormous amount of work. It's neat to learn Hank did the thumb-nail artwork for the episodes. I think they are the coolest UA-cam thumbnails. Even though I never met Hank, this hit me pretty hard and I will miss him very much like all the viewers. You could tell how kind and caring he was just by watching his videos and listening to his stories.
Please continue to produce these videos Larry. For as long as you can. I enjoy them so much and it’s not for the history and information so much as it’s just to appreciate how much knowledge and life experience you guys have. Hearing your narrations brings me back to when I was 5 years old and my grandpa would tell me stories of his lifetime. I could listen to you guys talk about literally anything. Please continue these videos. Hank was such an amazing man. I would have loved to have met him or heard him speak in person. He will be dearly missed.
Sorry to hear about Hank. Seeing him on FB always added his kind sparkle of enthusiasm. I get Hank was more than a warm hearted story teller that used his gift of conversation to thrill with dubious suspense. With respect one last Mystery of the Superstition Mountains is why God asked Hank to saddle up so early. RIP 🙏
Rest in peace Hank! My dad is a big fan of this channel, I have been watching with him for a good couple years. My condolences go out to you all and his family and friends!
Coming to the Junction and listening to Hank tell a story was on my bucket list. I'll have to wait until the other side now. I can't wait to hear the "rest of the story" now that he has all the answers. RIP to a master storyteller!

Many good prospector/treasure hunting people have been passing away in the past few years. Hats off to this good man and may the treasures of his dreams be realized with chuck dancing around the treasures with pure glory. I wish I had met the man for giving him the book : The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition. I bet Hank would have been a top notch physical on-ground dowser with possibly dowsing the mother load of treasures. Have a safe, healthy good day.
I and many others will greatly miss Hank, what a great personality he had, I enjoyed his Story's so very much, Rest in Peace , thank you for enriching my and many many others, Vio Con Dios !!!

I will be forever grateful for the history and stories presented here, especially those told by Hank. the way he presented them left you hanging on every word. the young boy in me once again re-birthed in this 71-year-old cogger, as mental pictures took shape in my mind as Hank would describe the events. I was always left wanting more. we are blessed to be living in such an era where we can hear the stories of our past. not only hearing but re-living those events thru the eyes and imagination of the storyteller. of which, Hank was one of the best. damn tears, I can't see the keyboard.
