Is there any chance you could e-mail me QRH for pmdg if you still have it on your drive ? I have the software but they dont give out the qrh anymore. It would be superb if you could do that. Cheers
Captain AL, got a question on the 744F. FIRE CARGO AFT In one of the step state: LDG ALT selector…..Set between 8000 and 8500. A few steps later state: When leaving cruise altitude for landing: LDG ALT switch…..Select AUTO. Not too sure what’s really going on here, is it recalculating the cabin alt. descend profile?
Putting the LDG ALT selector between 8000 and 8500 in most cases will bring the Cabin Altitude up and open the outflow valves more to assist in more airflow out for smoke removal. When leaving your cruise altitude for landing, pushing the selector back to AUTO will set the pressurization system back to normal and the cabin will stay higher until the altitude reaches the point on the calculated schedule based on landing field elevation, to start bringing the cabin down until touchdown when the outflow valves are fully opened and the jet is fully depressurized. Of course in a fire situation you are looking to land at the nearest suitable airport in terms of time. Prompt deviation to a suitable airport is required with time in mind in the event the fire escalates to uncontrollable…
