It’s truly great, sometimes the people you can play with are pretty annoying and the arena mode in open crew is the worst ever. But it’s just a blast to play
To be honest if this had been the trailer I would’ve played it so much earlier than I did

as a person who has been playing this game since launch, this is accurate. it's best to play with friends and most of the other players you meet are hostile though you will come across the friendly players once in a while. maybe. sometimes. not really. mostly just try hard hostile players.
As a new player at Sea of Thieves, we try to be the tryhard hostile players, because we're doing our best to learn the ways of the seas and take fights where we can.
I'm really just not a pirate, more of a exploring fisherman, i dont chase or attack people, but i have indeed sunk a ship or two before.
Eh, I just sink everyone I come across tbh. Most people are really bad lol

@Leo da Poa there is an option for console players to opt into console only servers, do so when you want less PvP (not guaranteed peacefulness tho).
There are three types of experiences in Sea of Thieves: relaxed sailing and treasure hunting, exciting and bombastic high adventure, or sadistic player-induced pain.
I am on the spear tip of the last one every time. I’ve given up at pvp at this point and just scuttle and suicide any time a hostile player shoots a canon ball.
@@kingdynal7735 that is not the way you have fun. I know it is super frustrating sometimes but you NEED TO face hostile pirates. You will get better in pvp with the time and the game is more fun when you dont get in panic when seeing ships on the horizon. I was a pvp-avoider too, but after I reached Pirate Legend I started focussing on reapers and pvp and everything got better. I recommend looking for reaper galleon crews on the official SoT discord, there you can find good players you can learn from and have fun with.

@@flog4368 I know. Joined a reaper crew recently (a good one not the pussies) and it was the most fun I’ve ever had in the game. Just need to improve canon aim
I definitely brought down the tone of the video by wearing a dress for the entire finale.
The constant vomiting help it getting up.
So it's balanced out.
This is not even a lie. My very first time playing sea of thieves, fresh off the install, I managed to find three other people to play with. I stayed up 36 fucking hours straight with three random people I became good friends with and still play with years later. I've never played a game for that long. Or anything, really. It was terrible and I felt like dog shit for like a week. But that's how wildly fun this game can be if you find good folks. I have put many more 24hr+ sessions into it afterwards because I'm a goober. Find friends, have fun.

I‘m close to my three year SoT anniversary and this video sums it up pretty good. Back with the first DLC they introduced the first real world event, the skeleton fleet across the 3 main seas. Back then we were just playing as 2 people but when we hit the final fleet in the wilds, every (literally every single one) ship joined in an alliance to defeat the toughest of the three fleets. To This day we carry the rank of „Conquerer of the skeleton fleets“ below our names to remind us of that day we met the best of the SoT community.
It was so epic to sail in formation with 6 ships towards the next outpost. We had the time of our life’s! Sea of thieves and it’s Community can be so incredibly annoying, but with a little bit of luck and some good friends it can become so much fun!
The first update was the megalodons
@@deusgr yeah, but the Megalodon is no timed Event, I’m talking of the huge skeleton fleets which you can no longer encounter
6 ships in formation..... that was nice being able to see ships in the distance, now its only 5 and are very hard to find.. Me and my crew will go round the entire map to find anyone to kill finding only 1-2 sloops and maybe a brig
3 years for me to lad my ship the formidable has never let me down

One of my favourite games. It has amazing atmosphere, music and looks amazing. It is also extremely replayable if you have friends to play with because that is a big part of what makes it fun.
What I gathered from this is that French pirates are the coolest dudes around.

True, some of my best memories in the game are with a French crew who let me join their crew after I betrayed my open crew, we went and fought an ashen lord together then they had to go off which led to one of my saddest goodbyes In the game
A really good video, accurate too. I'm a day one player, had it since launch. I'm just coming back to it after a year long break or so, and I'd say it's definitely improved a lot with all the new content. It's definitely better with friends, since a lot of things are really hard or just straight up impossible to do solo, but there's a lot more choice now than there was at launch. I remember at day 1, there was just fetch quests and that was it. Now you can do everything from fishing to battling a ghost armada to following a story based lore. There's that much I'm having to learn the game all over again, and when I took the break I was Pirate Legend, and thought I knew everything
I think the launch gave the game a bad name, and made many people quit early on which is a shame, because this game is a real gem. Flawed in many ways I'll give you that, mainly the playerbase and the repetitiveness of voyages from the 3 main companies, but there is a good game that is vastly overlooked here
agreed! this game is the best. I have bin watching the game sins it first hit UA-cam I got the game last x-mas (2019) sins then i learned how to play and i becam a master of all ships i can one man the galleon like its a sloop but I protect I be mad(as in craze) but most importantly I i teach all the new players how to get good. but other than that this game is amazing and its true message is its not always about the gold it is about that glory and the tales to tell after each Adventure.

@The Boi Chucky Well you see, there are a lot of missions in gta online that have you going from "point a" to "point b" giving a global sign that you're there if they kill you before you get to point b they make money, in the early days of gta the only way of chasing someone is with a car or you could try to make a trickshot in an helicopter. The idea there is very similar to SoT, don't you think?
The flying bikes in this game is a brigantine being too fast with any wind

I've never wanted to play this game more after I left awhile back after I saw that sweet sweet blend of "we shall sail together" showcasing all the different things with the game.. made me actually smile like a dumb kid again xD
The non-consentual pvp is a big part of the game. If there WEREN'T other pirates out there hunting you, fleeing from your cannons, racing you to the treasure, or toasting you in the tavern, the PvE would get boring, wouldn't it? Never not take the fight, pirate.
This was one of the best representations of the game I've seen. You perfectly encapsulated not only the new sailor experience, but what it's like when you get some hours under that salty sea dog belt of yours and it just feels... good.

Been playing for a week now and I’ve had so many emotional moments meeting friendly players with my homies, we’ve gotten filthy rich off of loot other players gave us/helped us with. Makes a grown man wanna cry when I see them venture off into the distance

That rumbling of the Tavern with a pirate legend opening the shop first thing he does on spawn is highly accurate.
So far I’ve found that joining a random crew on a galleon is way less likely to work out than on a brig, I’ve had some really good crew mates playing with randoms on a brig but everytime I load up a galleon it’s on fire or people are messing around
Sea of Thieves.. The game you Hate and Love at the same time.. Even if you're in the "Hate it" phase.. The sea still calls you...
Man i really have to say this video made my day. One of the Best sot videos i have ever seen
Truly a game like no other. The other day me and my crew of 4 hid in the crows nest of another ship that happened to be full of gunpowder barrels. We waited for them to reach port and then dropped the lit barrels off, destroying their ship and killing the entire crew almost instantly. Definitely one of the highlights of my sea of thieves experience.
As someone who has played this game for an un-godly amount of hours everything you see here is true

This video was very well done. And just a hint for everybody out there, don't join a random crew, like this video shows, you will never get anything done with random people. I leveled up to pirate legend mostly by myself because randos never help and my friends hardly ever played the game
I haven't played the game myself, but my friend tells me the game is mostly about avoiding scammers and getting other players to do stupid shit.

Always have a trusted lookout in ye crows nest, cant be dozin' off from one to many grog whilst a galleon approaches on the horizon
I enjoy tucking on new player ships and slowly moving their loot around from one side of the ship to the other just to see their reaction 😂
I have yet to see people as nice as the ones you encountered... For such a toonish looking theme, this is one the most hardcore PvP games I've played
I remember doing something just like that when I found a solo slipper that Just got the game, I just completed the last Athena voyage I needed to get to 10 at the time and I gave him everything besides the Athena
