  • This was a fantastic day on our European Tour with G Adventures as we got to meet the 1st Lady at the castle and enjoy a brilliant Czech cultural evening. Firstly, we walked to the Old Town Centre to hear the Astronomical Clock strike at 9am, and then ascended to the top of the town hall for a panoramic view. Next we had intended to visit the Tyn Church but as it was not yet open we decided to walk to the Charles Bridge and cross the river. From here, we got a packed tram to the Castle. As we we walking to the main castle complex we noticed a crowd to our left and decided to explore. Here we found that the President's wife, the 1st Lady, was involved in a function with a number of children and Bird's of Prey! We got chatting to some of the security detail and very quickly we were introduced to the 1st Lady, who shook our hands, chatted briefly with us and posed for photos. She was lovely and it was so good for us to meet her! The rest of the day was also very good! But the final highlight was the cultural evening that G Adventures took us to - it was brilliant, local food, local music and dancing with lots of participation - the Musican playing the Dulcimer was incredible. Another outstanding day on this trip - enjoy

Back to my nemesis that 'clock'! Got a great day for exploring and a great view from the walkway and I liked the sound of that 'all you can eat breakfast', that would do me just right. Loved the narrow cobbled streets there and I preferred the name King Charles bridge and a very impressive bridge it was too. Parts reminded me a bit of York, although, I have never seen birds of prey like that in York, or had the change to have a photo with any important person before but I did snap Brit Elkland with my son in York about 30 years ago. You were right about the church being incredible inside and out, as was the Basilica of Saint George. I understand why it was done but never been a graffiti fan but the mardi gras and this massive ice creams. Looked a great evening out and I bet you were pleased it was Andria volunteered and not you ha but she did great! Cheers Alan

Thanks Alan, won't mention the clock again!! Andrea definitely has some moves on the dance floor that I don't possess!! I once bumped into Graham Souness, Liverpool footballer, in the toilets at Dublin airport - no scandle!! Lots of great highlights in Prague to see and we did our best to get round most of it - Day 2 to follow and it was almost as good. The big ice creams are called something like "Chimnie" and are like ice cream inside a donut but boy did they taste good!! Thanks again for watching, regards, Ashley

Love the birds of prey, big fan. Like the backwards filming of Andrea crossing the Charles Bridge,, very professional. Tourists always getting in the way 😂 Throne room looked very grand. Now that's a serious ice-cream very tasty. Restaurant looked amazing, the flags was a nice touch. Ah mate see that soup in a bap classic, Great watch. 👍

It's amazing what stands out for everyone! Maybe I should do more backwards recording - I just need the actors to stop laughing!! The ice cream is called something like "chimnie" and is really ice cream inside donuts but it was all good!! The soup was really tasty, another local speciality - you just have to sample all the local culture! Thanks for watching, regards, Ashley
