been watching hundreds of videos and channels so far i enjoy your work the most. keep it up im now subscribed and would like to see some of the mistakes as well. its always nice to see the perfect ones however do you post any of the mess ups?
Thanks so much!!! I did need to post more fails! I learn more from those batches, and others can learn from my mess-ups too. Have you seen the fail in my first attempt in this video? ua-cam.com/video/8mA8W8Yd10E/v-deo.html
Not yet I'll be looking for it now. I just see so many people showing all the success and I know when you get a routine they're far and few between to make mistakes. My biggest thing is wondering when something was displeasing to you as a maker, I am a mechanic and I found sharing the mistakes helps out hundreds of people you had no idea run into the similar problem and simple changed or fixes make a world of a difference. I.e. a color won't hold mixed with certain oils or maybe CPOP is needed. Maybe a fragrance is potent or weak.
At the center of every rain drop from which snow forms is what’s called a condensation nuclei. This is basically a small particle on which a water droplet requires to fall to the earth. Some examples of condensation nuclei include dust, soot, vehicle exhaust, and sulfate.
@@Baby_Ghoul710 Yes it’s pollution but it’s a necessary condition in order for it to rain. Most water we receive for consumption or use has been filtered to take these particles out or it comes from water reclaim (water we send down the drain) which is a deeper filtration process. I think if she wanted to regularly use rain or snow to make soap, a dedicated Brita filter or something would be fine.
It’s also not like we wouldn’t be exposed to these kinds of particles anyways and at least it’s for _soap_ and not food or something. Remember all the times as kids we stuck our tongues out at the rain trying to catch a drop? 🥴
@@dustbitten yeah. Even if it is for soap I still wouldn't feel comfortable using it. I have such sensitive skin literally anything can give me a rash😦
My son and I had so much fun doing the kiss pour. Striping the batter with each pour is a great idea. I like the spoon you use for your coconut oil, I use an ice cream scoop and sometimes it globs up. Lol. One day I will join the soap challenge, but for now I enjoy seeing all the entries. Great video. Thanks 😊
That's is nice that you make soap with your son. I got that scoop at Michael's. I like it too! I had been soaping for a little over a year when I finally decided to join the Challenge. You'll have to try it when you are ready. Thank you, Brook!

Happy to see you filming again. It really is neat watching the snow melt when you add the NaOH. I love how you create a whole new colour with the micas, that is just something I'm not good at.
I loved the technique, I have never poured with 2 pitchers at once. I hope to give this a try when I have a spare minute to experiment. Wonderful video.
I really like the kiss pour, I like the colors you used in all of them. I watched Lisa from I Dream In Soap and she did i think 4 different layers of different colors and it turned out pretty cool. That big snow storm you had delayed my trip to see my new grandson, but, we made it the following week 😀. Thanks Terry for sharing, till next time, stay safe. 😊💞
Another beauty!! Cute idea to use snow 🙃 I make goat milk soap and I strain it 3 times after I milk my does, plus I use an unbleached cone coffee filter in the strainer. Maybe try a coffee filter next time you do a snow soap??? 💕
Beautiful! I was thinking yesterday about making soap using snow. Then I saw your video, and now I have to try it. I figured there would be some dirt/dust/particles in it since that is how snow is formed. Gave me something to think about how to go about using it. Maybe collect it and allow it to melt at room temperature then strain it? I have a fragrance called Snowflakes and Citrus; that is probably going to be my next soap. We are supposed to have a snowstorm tomorrow. Maybe I will collect some snow and just have some fun here. I really liked your alternate design with the gold in it; that one really caught my attention.
GORGEOUS! Dang it, I discovered you too late to buy this bar. I would have purchased the entire batch JUST BECAUSE OF THE SNOW! It's magical, and the pour is mesmerizing! Absolutely LOVE it. I do hope you give snow a try again. Maybe a coffee filter if you wanted to strain the snow/lye? Idk, I am no soap maker. But fantastic job! I love your channel, and the beautiful art bars you create!
New subscriber here. Really enjoyed the explanation of the process. I'd love to try this but wonder if it would work without the spouty jugs which I can't find in Cape Town.
It’s beautiful, Teri! 😍 I love putting the FO in the oils before adding the lye solution too. It’s actually a great way to work around FO’s that rice too. I’ve not tried muslin, but I know little organza bags are helpful for an extra layer of straining. It feels a little rigged that I do that, but it works. 🤷🏻♀️😂. I also think it’s cool you tried snow. You never would’ve known if you hadn’t tried it for yourself. I’m so glad you shared your outcome with us. 😍 Again, your artwork is amazing, and I loved so much of this video. 😍
This is fabulous! I’d love to try this technique, but I don’t have a slab mould...I wonder how it would work in a loaf mould? I guess I’ll have to try it out 😀. Thank you for sharing your tips 💕
it would be interesting if you use the soap shavings that you have left from each of your project, and turn into another slab I wonder what you can come up with o 3o
Beautiful! I absolutely love it that you use your talent/passion to teach what you do and not just selling it. Were you just on santos Bonacci live cast?
I think you’ll be fine if you use the snow again as long as it’s still very fresh and you strain it after it melts like you did. But can you sell it like that?
Those colors look great. I'm thinking that if you did this all in one container, it wouldn't be the "kiss method" anymore. Do you think this can be done in a loaf mold?
Thank you, Michael! You're right; it would be the Cosmic Wave if I did it all in one pot. You can do it in a loaf mold if you make a half batch or a whole batch and cut it horizontally. The top cut would be the best, though. 😊
Hey Terry i hope all is well💛 I keep coming back to check if there’s a new video(even though i have on the post notifications😂). Just been a minute i hope this is a GOOD break and not bc of anything bad.💜
Did you build your own slab cutter Teri? If so, a DIY would be awesome! I use a loaf mold for most of my soap, but I’ve found that a small slab mold (thanks to a TreeMarie DIY!) has its place when trying new techniques. Occasionally I also use a dedicated cookie sheet as a slab mold, which works out very well! Awesome pour by the way!
Teal is my favorite color! (Purple is my second after teal trumped it. LOL!) This turned out GORGEOUS! Have you ever used silver colorant? I'm thinking a silver mixed in with activated charcoal, titanium dioxide, and teal like you show in this video would be beautiful. :)
Hi! How are you? my name is Soledad, I'm from Argentina, first tell you that I love your channel and all your videos !! I contacted you this time to ask you a question, I have made a well balanced recipe and obtained a perfect trace, it is assumed that my soap had a design with 3 colors, so before dividing the trace to color, I added the fragrance, a 3 % and I did not have time for anything !! it cut me off and started to leak! a disaster! it was horrible. So I need your knowledge to guide me, is there a way to delay the acceleration of the trace when it is added? can it be diluted for example? what can be done? I would appreciate giving me some advice about it! A hug!
I tried this technique today, but unfortunately, my batter became too thick. Really needed to hold back on the stick blending and watch my temperatures. I'll try again tomorrow.
Yes, this time, there was a category for new soapers. I would encourage you to try it. Maybe not next month, though. It is a difficult one. soapchallengeclub.com/current-challenge/

Fantastic! Looked easy but I am humbled after today’s attempt.
You are right; it is harder than it looks.
This is totally gorgeous, it reminds me of sea water. I love that you used snow as your liquid.
Thanks so much, Tanya! 💙💦

So basically pollution. The snow is polluted just like the rest of our water

I tried this before seeing your video and didn't pour one on top of the other in the spout. Yours turned out much more interesting.
Oh, thanks so much, Terry! I light the movement with this method. 😊💕

Yes, it can. You would make a half batch or make a whole batch and cut it horizontally.
Doesn’t black mica foam black & stains the wash cloth? Activated charcoal suds up white

I tried this technique today, but unfortunately, my batter became too thick. Really needed to hold back on the stick blending and watch my temperatures. I'll try again tomorrow.
Do you think this could be done in a loaf mold?
Yes, you would just want to pour the depth of one horizontal bar, around one inch.
That calculator seems more complicated than it needs to be. How do you remember all of this

Thanks!
