Good luck, my landlord flooded my unit and destroyed everything I owned in the middle of winter and then filed a claim of renovations to take back the unit, and she was granted that even in the middle of a L&TB case against her meanwhile I have been paying rent in a place I couldn’t live for three months...while she renovated the unit to her liking and destroying my stuff even further during the process all I got back was the rent I paid, and she walked away with no disciplinary action and I was homeless, not to mention she lied several times and got caught and she still walked away.
Condo boom has ruin this city, nothing but dystopian glass towers that sit empty for years closedown storefronts and syringe needles littering your condo lobby. gentrification and renovations dose nothing to improve a community but force those who can't afford it out of the downtown area and makes the area look horrible. I'm curious to know if the new owner buys a apartment building and the mortgage for that price of the building requires you to fix up the units and raise the rents in order to cover the mortgage, what should the new owner/ investor do, take a loss every month of thousands of dollars. The reality is the rents these tenants are paying is not close enough to carrying the mortgage.
