See this is the kind of straightforward tidbits people don't get much from the manufactures or unless you're on the trail but by that time you've already bought it.... All this is really helpful to consider about the unit pre-purchase and for troubleshooting after. Thank you very much, keep it up!

You really push that machine to the limits compared to me, so your review is going to be worth a lot.
My overall review on mine is I love the car. Totally love it. I'm always surprised at how easily it soaks up the lumps. Its a pleasure to drive!
I paid 260 for a factory spare belt at an expensive dealer. Shop around, I guess?
I agree about the gas gage being too tilt-sensitive.
My trans seal was leaking at first too. Dealer fixed it, and I assume Segway is going to be putting better seals on in future. If it leaks again I want to know your new seal part #
I agree also about the ride comfort. And the visibility is quite good in the forward direction. I feel like the steering wheel would be better with a round cross-section though.
The suspension is great and its one of the main reasons I bought the Segway.
I'm thinking of going with some System3 33 inch tires and some System3 wheels. The only problem is the Segway needs deep wheel caps and I have to check on availability.
I want to see you do the winch rope. I'd like to do the same thing but I havent seen 9000 lb ropes for sale.
I'm thinking about getting the new A-arms MSC is working on, so long as moving the wheel forward a little doesn't mess with the steering too much.
I've got the MSC tune and I have a free re-flash on that if I need to change it with a clutch kit for the bigger tires.

You nailed it. I've had a winch rope since I had the 950 and for some reason I never find time to put it on lol. I too get a free upgraded tune when it comes out and as a whole, there's been nothing as for comfort, for a guy being 5'16" fitting in a unit. I'm 275lbs too so it's a great machine and I don't think I'm getting rid of it anytime soon. Thanks for the comment. 😎

great review, especially for those of us who have very little knowledge on the unit - price point is great and judging from your videos its a very good machine, enjoy the trails and hope to meet up with you.

Hopefully you do a video of replacing the steel cable on the winch. Your fender flare install video was quite helpful. I'm still looking for a video about installing the turn signal wiring kit.

I reached out to MSC about the turn signal kit but it's a lot of money that I don't need. There is a video of someone doing it. I'd do it if I could get a discount on the product.

I’ve never had good luck with gates belts over the years. I know some people like them but they haven’t served me well. If the SuperATV belt is a G Boost belt I’d recommend trying that one. Good video man. Those birds in the background are goin wild, lol.

Yup, I know that all of us independent struggling tubers try to cut as many corners as possible and we pay a BIG price for our cheapness. I've reached out to G Boost and ultimax for belts and haven't gotten a response yet. I did run the unit hard in WV and my clutch paid the price. Lol.

@@sxsoutcast7651 ya, we’ve all learned a lesson or two cutting corners. Sometime you can get away with it and sometimes it costs you more. There is a lot of tech that goes into belts and it’s not an area to cheap out. I always recommend that unless you get an opinion or feedback from someone you can trust it’s best to stick to OEM. I’ve been running G boost belts in my rzr turbo for a few years now and I feel they work as good as oem or better. Can’t say the same for any other belt I’ve tried on that machine and I’ve tried a lot over the last 7 years. In my experience, especially on the turbo machines the gates and dayco belts just don’t have what it takes.

This is what I've found out.
Even though the gauge read empty, the gas pickup is in the back of the tank. I was assured it was fine. I never stalled going up a hill BUT it did read empty all the way to the top. Lol. It sucks.

That was my whole point but I may not have conveyed it right. I do think a stronger clutch is needed when we crawl. I don't want to floor the unit to get up over a 12-16" rock. Thanks for watching.

I’m wondering why and or how they got 80 something out of the fugelman and only 74 out of the villain on the dyno video from real talk Powersports … shouldn’t be a big difference between the both of them i wouldn’t think

    • @sxsoutcast7651
      @sxsoutcast7651  2 місяці тому

Sorry but I thought I answered this question.
It's done with 2 different dynos. One is more friendly than the other. The villain was tested with a more accurate Dyno. If they would've been on the same dyno, the results would've been the same.

Great Video!! Ok are ya ready? now keep in mind this is my opinion, also coming from a different machine owner (getting the Villain soon i hope), but they all work about the same. So this is advice coming from someone to me and they have YEARS of experience!!!
1- the tires..... you would probably do better with 33" tires. The reason is, you don't have to clutch the machine and its the prefect balance of ride height vs power loss.
2- The clutch- Put the original clutch back in and run 33" tires. now this is just an opinion here, but NOBODY has ever designed an aftermarket clutch that is as good as the stock clutch in ANY machine. sooner or later they all blow out!! i'm talking about aftermarket blowing out not the stock clutch.
3- the belt- either go with the stock belt or if you are going for after market look at "Hunter works" belts. Their youtube channel is GREAT FOR INFO!!!!
4- your clutch leak- just an idea--- Go to Nappa or O'Riley's, wherever and get "gasket making material" and make your own. maybe use high temp RTV on the backside of the gasket. it may have been the heat generated that had something to do with the part failure. just a thought... but that's a possible fix "if" it's just faulty material.
so to fix the power problem- 33" tires, stock clutch and stock or a hunter works belt. BUT- you need a quality belt and they will cost you. either stock or a hunter works belt. thats personal experience talking. but you will get your power back with those 3 things.
Machine smoking- PCV valve sounds like that could be the culprit. if it's an external, you could always pull it and try to match it up with another from the automotive industry.
the gas gauge- you are still getting fuel. my machine does it all the time when going up steep inclines. its just the gas indicator arm on the pump, you are still getting the normal amount of fuel pick up. this is common with every machine that i know of.
suspension- please do not get "limiting straps"!! you likely just need to adjust yours and it will take some time to do. limiting straps are just a bad idea for the kind of riding you and i both do and enjoy. You may want to get with "Shock Therapy". you can visit their UA-cam channel or website, but they are #1 in SXS suspension.
that's all i got for ya brother!! Thank you again for such an honest review!!!! really hope to meet up with ya!! I will be launching my new channel here pretty soon. well not new channel, just a "re-naming or re-branding of the current one" i think you'll enjoy it, i'm good at being stupid on camera :)

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate all I get. I have the OEM belt back on it but I'm in need of some parts like the weight cups and the rubber shim/bumpers on the primary cover.
As for looking goofy on a camera, I do that for sure and my wife thinks it too. "How can you do that", easy. I don't think ppl care as long as you are honest and keeping it simple.
