      though your claim is mostly true. Football also is a sport where if your too slow you wont get picked a lot. You can either play the goalkeeper the center back and a defensive midfielder or maybe even a striker from time to time. If you run 12km/h you wont be in the squad. Professional players run up to 32 to 40 km/h on average sprint. I can say the same for football that its 99% genetics. Of course speed wont be the only factor in football but same goes for basketball. Players like Muggsy Bogues, Spud Webb, The second Isaiah Thomas were all under 6 feet tall Muggsy. Being 5ft 6 inches and all of them are known for how good they were some of them winning the dunk contests like Spud in 1987. Something similar probably has appeared in football so thats why its not okay either to say that its 99% genetics. Team sports need skill and athleticism in some way. Some preferring height ,agility, speed etc. but they still require for you to have game iq.

    I think football is quite difficult on a professional level compared to other sports, in sports like basketball or hockey you use your legs entirely just for movement and use your hands for other things like passing or shooting but in football you have to do all of that with just your feet. Dribbling, shooting, passing and movement. Not to mention players have a strong or a dominant foot and a weak foot which forces them to be more calculative with their movements and decision making.

    What's make football the most difficult sport, is not that you need to put the ball in the back of the net. It's that you have to do it better than everyone else. And it's a fact that football is the most played sport on the planet. Aside of the technical specificity of each sport, football is by far the most competitve sport if you want to be a pro

    • @theemotionalremix
      @theemotionalremix 8 місяців тому +6

      Yes. It's not difficult at all to pass the ball around for 90 minutes. Anyone can play football regardless of their athletic history because all you have to do is run around a lot while touching the ball a few times. But because it's such an easy sport you're competing with so many people.
      It's not hard to go pro because it requires a lot of skill. It requires a lot of skill because it's hard to go pro. Think about what that means for a moment.

      Hitting a baseball has been called the most difficult skill to do in all of sports. Think about it. In Major League Baseball, you've got a pitcher throwing fastballs in excess of 100mph. Not only does he throw a fastball, but he can throw this fast ball high, low, inside high, inside low, outside high, outside low. Now, on top of that, he can throw a curveball, a change up, a slider, a knuckleball....
      You've got two guys - the pitcher and catcher trying to do EVERYTHING in their power to prevent you from even hitting the ball. You're trying to hit these fastballs, sliders, curveballs using a bat who's diameter is not much larger than the diameter of the ball that's coming at you at 100mph.
      Now, if you SOMEHOW manage to hit the ball, now you've got nine defensive players doing everything in their power to prevent you from getting on base by either catching the ball that you hit or throwing you out.
      So, when it comes to pure skill and difficulty, baseball is BY FAR the most difficult sport out of all of the major U.S. sports.

    I think that lots of people forget that sports like basketball, hockey, baseball, and american football are all sports that are dominated by the US. Even though hockey is dominated in canada and america, or how basketball is dominated in america and parts of africa, you have to remember that litereally 90% of the countries on earth are mainly sports where soccer is the primary sport. So even if hockey might be really hard to play in general, soccer is a sport that litereally every country on earth plays so its extremely hard to get to an elite level while playing soccer.

    • @TheThreatenedSwan
      @TheThreatenedSwan 8 місяців тому +1

      Sure, but the issue is most countries just don't produce that many elite athletes due to genetics, and interest in another sport reduces the pool for competition. So countries primarily interested in sports like athletics, martial arts, and hockey like Russia do not produce millions of athletes to compete with soccer. Also a more interesting confounder to the general increase in selectivity in sport is demographics. As the world has gotten richer, it can afford more athletes and they aren't as nutritionally deprived, yet more aged countries who might have an advantage in certain sports don't have the numbers of young people they might have in the past

    • @ThatBloxy
      @ThatBloxy 8 місяців тому +10

If you look up a demographic of most popular sport soccer easily dominates in about 75% or more of all the world countries, like germany, brazil, russia, and argentina. Because of this, the amount of people playing soccer is insanely high which means that it is much harder to be good enough to play for a pro club, which is why so many people play semi pro, because it's extremely hard to go pro when over half the world is also competing for the same position as you

    Football is the most skillful sport of all time hear me out. football probably has the lowest success rate for someone going into the sport professionally. you would be lucky to even get into an academy as a child. being a goalkeeper is way harder in football than any other sport. as with football there is so many ways that an attack could happen and when you're an attacker it's not just kicking the ball at the net it's composure skill Finesse and maybe even some flair if you're Brazilian. and dribbling isn't just kicking the ball around rainbow flicking elastico even a simple body faint could be hard to pull off. obviously it's easy by yourself but with a defender it is very hard to pull off and get past the Defender. and football is also the biggest sport in the world it may not be the biggest sport in America but America isn't the whole world is it now. and because it's the most popular sport there is a lot more pressure and eyes on you which could cause ballers to become worse than Harry Maguire in 2022. and football is also the most unpredictable Sport so anything can happen you could do the most perfect shot of all time and it could hit the crossbar. you also have to be very tactically strong as a player. and you got to have team chemistry. sure even a simple touch of a ball needs so many things you need composure you need to predict where the ball is going and where it is going to go once it's hit your foot and you have to make sure that it would still be close to you. and football also has way higher chance of injury as football has the least protection causing you to be able to pull a hamstring at any time. some people have got an injured from power shooting a ball it's crazy out here. and don't even get me started on defending you need to time a tackle, when to stick your leg out and you need to know how strict the referee is. upon many other things that I don't care to name. and I don't even play in the defense so I couldn't even tell you the actual in real life experience. And also as you said a game could be dominated by one team but lost by the same team a game where no goals are scored could still be entertaining that's the best thing about football. And I also care more about technical ability than physical ability as you could be the strongest lad perfect athlete that shouldn't make you good at Sports.

Even if I am wrong there and you’ve just worded it wrong, the fact is that “soccer” has more pros in England because of how developed the league system is. But the skill ceiling for the sport is higher then most sports on the planet so as you get higher level you have to drastically increase your technical ability and game knowledge at a extremely fast rate and it only gets faster as you go. You also have to do all this while getting your stamina to the point you can run up to 8-10 miles per can at the highest level and 4-6 at the intermediate-semipro level and make runs at a sprinting pace around every 3 minutes at the highest level and every 6 minutes at intermediate, oh you can run 6 miles per game and make speints every 5 minuted? Top 5 sports ranked by difficulty
    1.) Hockey, honestly no debate. Being able to control the puck standing still on skates is too hard for most. Let alone going over 15 miles an hour at times.
    2.) football, hardest endurance sports, and in my opinion, you have to master 5 skills for everything you do. Maybe I’m biased but it’s still very hard
    3.) basketball, second most enduring sport and a lot of back and forth. I don’t watch it but I know a lot of people do because of how fast pace it is.
    4.) baseball, there are two skills involved. 1 of which has no variables. Obviously meaning it’s just rinse and repeat. The other is definitely the hardest thing to do *consistently* in sports which keeps baseball out of last.
    5.) American football, just not my vision of a difficult sport. “Haha I’m bigger than you.” Plus with there being in 1 position where there is skills to master.

I know not all americans are dumb like these… They don’t know how different it’s in here. what you call “soccer” it’s probably the hardest game to be a pro at. Not the most difficult sport, the most difficult to be a Pro at. Pro “soccer” players are literally Olympic athletes, they run constantly for 1h30 and they are expected to give their full from 1st to 90th minute. Giving that this is the basics you have also to be more skilled than millions of other people like you and be tactically intelligent enough to not be a burden to your team. Remember that the whole team could be playing good, but you need only one mistake and you loose a game. You can never loose focus. This enough should express how much of a selection the teams do. Try playing “soccer” yourself and tell me if it’s easy to go pro in Europe. Also the argument of that dude contradicts itself. Let's see, at first glance football seems to be an easy sport, since anyone "can kick a ball." But that would be for the common person, also at first glance anyone would say that MMA is an easy sport since anyone can throw a punch. There is much more to football than just hitting the ball. I love watching football because of the individual performances and what strategies the teams will use. That's why it's the most beautiful sport in the world.

    I like to think about it like this and tell this to my friends who think football or basketball is better or more difficult, I just tell them using your hands anyone could honestly make 3pt shot or throw a football and catch it with good technique and form, but with soccer it’s the same but you can’t use your hands at all unless ur goalie and to play the sport u need some sort of technique to even control and pass the ball and like you said the average person would absolutely get mixed up because their brain would move way faster than your feet so you will end up loosing the ball plus there is a defender who has to know what the offense is going to do with the ball so yea that’s why there is low scoring games because the goalie saves and the defense plays good defense and should get rewarded for so

  • @hussross

    Another variable is how all sports have a break or pauses. If football baseball basketball or others were expected to play continuously it would be much different. Soccer you don’t have the luxury to stop or call a time out. Or lea the defense to help you with time to recover physically.

    My arguement (i will call it soccer for now because this video is about American sports):
    The most physically "talented" sport is obviously basketball because height is not trainable, but skill wise we can break it down to spatial awareness and coordination.
    for spatial awareness I would say soccer because there are the most players on the field, you could pass in any direction and with or without curve. In football there are also 22 players, but only one person passes the ball, and the others follow the play or react, when a player is running with the ball 99% of the time they always want to go forward and they only pay attention to a fraction of the opposition.
    For coordination it might be hockey, but there is less competition to go pro. Throwing in baseball and football should come fairly natural since our anatomy is designed to let us throw. So you could go basketball because its hard to make shots, or soccer because goalkeepers need elite reaction time and it's difficult to keep the ball at your feet, since you can't hold on to it. Or hockey for the same reason.

    • @JosephAlegre-c2t

      basketball is not physically the hardest because players who play in the NBA require a certain height? the fouls in basketball are very mild and players do not play the whole game and rotate in the bench throughout the game. American Football i would say is a lot more physically demanding

      Akinfenwa's highest achievement was to play one season in the Championship which is the 2nd league in England and only scored once during that season so if far from elite.
      Adama Traore has played for top clubs for sure so he is playing at the elite level but he isn't elite because decent wingers score usually 15 goals a season on average whereas his best season was when he scored 6 times and assisted 9 times so if he did that regularly he could be considered elite but since he has on average 5 goal contributions a season he is at best a decent substitute.

      In Brazil alone there are over 2 million registered footballers so the pool of selection is crazy and the odds of making it to the top level is very tiny hence this is probably the most competitive sport out there.

    Growing up, I never understood why my dad loved this game so much. I dismissed it as boring because there were only a handful of, if any, goals per game. But now that my sons are playing it, I've come to appreciate how demanding it is at the highest level. You need technical ability, awareness, quick decision making, team cohesion, IQ, etc. to play the game well. When all players are at the same level it is a special thing to watch. But when my boys play rec, they need to actually be INDIVIDUALLY even better because those kids are missing most of those attributes and need perfect passes to make an assist for example. But, generally, football is much more of a TEAM sport since all the players need to be at a bar. There are a few freaks that can really impact a game but it's still pretty rare.
    Either way, I think that soccer is the chess of sports. Easy to understand the rules but hard to master. It requires a lot of analysis and anticipation. And no game is like any seen before.
    In the US, at least, the scouts are certainly favoring bigger and faster players with the assumption that they can add the technical ability (IQ probably not so much). So it is disappointing that's the trend. But it is to be expected I suppose.
