Secondly his beloved wife n kids for supporting him n being there with understanding his absence from home (it takes alot from kids knowing ur parent is not there n growing up to be exemplary)

Bcoz when Big made it big in mid - late 70s, the prime period of 60s stars ( Sharmila, Asha Parekh, Waheeda etc ) was over - Saira banu was the only saleable lead actress from the 60s at that time. 70s saw a whole new bunch of actresses like Raakhee, Parveen bhabi, Zeenat, Hema and others

Anyway Rajesh khanna was a brilliant actor , typecasting could be one of the reasons for his downfall ..in an interview Javed Akhtar said ,Rajesh khanna was their first choice for Janjeer but he rejected .. Amitabh ,the last choice , as told by Javed Akhtar,grabbed the opportunity with both hands ..

agree with much of what you said. except, he did write a long tribute to SSR as soon as the shocking news was in public. we cannot vilify if some dont choose to wade into controversial issues, ultimately its the job of the authorities to uphold the law. govts good or bad are ultimately the law unto themselves in today's word, so we cant vilify people these days. Come to think of it, even public has gone into a slumber. it was a topic where govt had gone to most heinous extent to cover up, and allegedly involved a ruling politician. Its truly difficult, bz even celebrities are as vulnerable in worst case scenarios.🙏👍.
yes Bollywood as a collective, as an association could have petitioned, but where's such an association ? high time maybe, coz expecting one celebrity to lead such a fight that takes on the govt of the day without enough back support of colleagues isnt prudent. I think he is an overrated actor upon whom luck has been more favorable than he actually deserved. So much admiration and adulation he gets which sometime seems to be exgerrated. In comparison , Dharmendra who has series of hits to his credit unbeatable by any of his contemporaries , notably with Sharmila has always been a preferred choice when comparing with Amitabh..
