I swear, the most poetic end for this series would be for it to be Rhyme playing Marik (one of the nastiest characters that Doto ended up fumbling) vs Doto playing Espa Roba (the dark horse that wasn't even on the wheel originally but has let Doto take out two really solid decks) The main villain vs the side character barely anyone remembers existing

Here I thought Bakura was Doto's best deck, but if Doto doesn't get rid of Ryhme's Marik deck, he is cooked, no question. (Personally, I think Weevil is Doto's best deck for getting rid of Marik. DNA Surgery + Insect Barrier stops all of Marik's monsters besides Bowganian and Lava Golem. Also, Marik only has 1 MST if I remember correctly. Weevil doesnt sent alot to the GY either after he gets his board setup, so Coffin Seller aint gonna do much either.)
@@leblanc3536True, I didn't say it wouldn't be easy, Marik is OP in this "meta" (format?) But its still a way to shut down Rhyme's offensive strategies. The biggest concerns are coffin seller and nightmare wheel. Nightmare wheel can be MSTd, or the monster can be tributed. Coffin Seller is a non-issue if he can get his DNA lock up. If Doto gets his Insect DNA lock, all he's gotta do is out-deck Marik. Its a boring win, but its his best bet on getting rid of Marik.

I would love to see this kind of series done for other eras of YGO. Just an idea, let's say you do a GX shadowlocke; you both could agree on 12 characters throughout the era to use and then each of you gets a 13th character deck outside of the main 12 that's a mystery and after spinning you can choose to sub in with your 13th deck but after that it's gone no matter who won.
Continue with gx, 5ds, ect, and keep track of roster at the end of each shadow lock. After going through all the series, have an all star round with the surviving decks on each side
at the 7:00 minute mark currently! the remaining time left in this duel is very telling who the victor is going to be! no way doto can win 2 straight in this amount of time

The Shadow Realm is basically Hell, a realm of eternal torment and suffering for souls. As to why that is better to 4kids than just dying, I got no idea. Mai isn't much better off in either version though.
What's actually sad is that Yami Bakura, despite being the series' main/final villain, only ever won one duel and it was against a complete fodder character, Bonz. Other than that he legit lost every single duel he ever participated in. Plus he even got karate chopped by Tristan once, which is an even bigger L.

The soul inside of the millenium ring is the hate and feeling of revenge from Bandit King Bakura that is fused with Zorc (although weakened), when you stop to think about it, besides the power of the millenium artifacts, a part of the reason as to why Yami Bakura wants to reunite the puzzles so much could be assigned to a sense of justice to his own people, since they were made by sacrificing their lives. There's also the fact that Kazuki Takahashi didn't figured out what he wanted for Atem's past until at least after the beggining of Battle City, as shown by Forbidden Memories. Said that, Yami Bakura isn't even the most wasted potential, besides Yu-Gi-Oh having a long-running story of easted potential over the series (specially Arc-V), the biggest potential wasted in Yu-Gi-Oh is Yugi, since he is the protagonist, yet he got sidelined by Yami for most of the manga, got even more sidelined in the anime, even going as far as Yugi losing some space he had in the manga and giving it to Atem in the anime, and he even needed to be saved in the DSoD movie just for fanservice, undermining the Ceremonial Duel's message.
