Ripple delete and “ripple trim to next point” and “ripple trim to previous point” or something along those lines are my favourite shortcuts. You don’t even have to shuffle things. The thing I want to learn more if for longer videos like mine where I record hours of drawings, what I should delete and what I should keep. Not every pencil stroke needs to be shown and it’s difficult to emotionally disconnect from every line, and eliminating the majority and keeping only the necessity. I guess that comes from time and watching other videos in my niche and seeing what they’re doing. Great video!
Thanks for doing this Sean. I'm going to have to watch it a few times (and pause a fair bit) to make sure that I've got everything right - but soooo worth it. Thanks for making editing easier.
👆👆👆One thing I have come to realize is that video editing is a skill that cannot be perfected over night. If you need to edit a perfect video for your UA-cam channel or TV, it is better to hire a professional. I was struggling with my video until I met someone who helped me out. I sent him my rough sketches and explained what I need and he got it done for me. He did a clean job with good colour crading, gave me free sound that wont get striked by UA-cam. I will recommend him for you. You can begin a conversation with him using the address I use as my name. That is how sure I am about him.
Also, a quick one regarding audio is using ”type”. set the ”music” to detect the ”speech” and it will auto duck ”turning itself down. Another time saver

This video editing part of the enterprise, in my honest opinion, feels the most insurmountable.. it'd appear that hope distilled through with your tutorial... and that felt like you made my day... I have endlessly repeated the clip and no doubt, will continue to repeat it for several days/months... I'll get Adobe, it does feel a bit confusing, though, you eventually inspire that it's doable.. The most helpful tip that I can give to new editors and creators is to learn your keyboard shortcut. it may take you 5-10 seconds to do a cut using the razer tool, but a keyboard shortcut can do a cut in 2-3 seconds. It may not save time immediately, but during the whole duration of the edit, it speeds everything up.
Few questions for you, Where do you get the sound effects? Do they come with premiere pro? How do you zoom in? Is that in premiere also? Does premiere pro come with a bunch of stock effects like that bleep screen you used? Can you also make subtitles with premiere pro? My first time editing glad I ran into your page I wish I knew people like you. To help me get my kids UA-cam started but these video are just fine thank you!
Using Final Cut Pro. Learned on iMovie so the transition was pretty much seamless. Also, using Garage Band which really helped me learn how to edit. Not that much different from FCP. I also look at wave forms, and cut out blank spaces in audio.
Shaun, I bought Premiere Pro on your recommendation. I've made 30 or so videos on youtube using Windows Live and and another older program. Pro 2020 is Killing me! Very steep learning curve dude. The tutorials are full of jargon and overly basic.

I also edit mostly in iMovie on my iPad because I paid for Adobe for six months and don’t understand or have fun in the program. I feel creative using Apple and inspired. That being said I’m looking forward to learning how to post on UA-cam because that’s where I get stuck. I know my audience I know my brand that I’m currently creating in my heart. Thank you for that tip about Epidemic music. I always want to have integrity and support the artist in whatever way possible. Sometimes I say free copyright music on the title bar in UA-cam but I don’t necessarily know if it’s within UA-cam parameters however with you I do.
I noticed when you're editing the segments together that you're like overlapping them like if I one point you got the audio in a video and then you put the the video and the other audio for the next segment like above and below that you know I'm saying why do you do that
Maybe I’m off But people saying it was going to fast are missing the point. The series is to show you the process. That is very helpful. He even said if you want the how to of this and that you should check out the link etc. this is to show how it comes together. Well done sir. Thank you.
I always enjoy videos showing how others edit. One way I differ from you is I don’t bother closing gaps along the way, I just do a quick first pass then select all and close gaps. Always enjoy what you put down. Thanks!!
1. I’m obsessed with this channel - and all the helpful content you guys make. It feels like a mix between a master class & cliff notes AND I love it! 2. The last video I posted was edited with Premiere. I need to learn all of the hot keys because I am spending too much time looking for things.
That's great questions man :) I wonder how too. I have been doing videos for a while now but I am still uncomfortable . So I just draw without my face on there lol.
@@Anthony_Francisco_Art and Sagar, I think the best ways to become more comfortable is by practising a lot and applying tips like talking to a friend and practice your breathing. It's also very important not to put any pressure on yourself, because it's all about enjoying filming and doing what you love! I don't really want to promote my own stuff on here but because I've had great feedback from people who watched my video about this particular topic, I just want to share it with you in case you want some more tips right now. Great video. My only guess on the left and right being logically backwards is some reason set up like stage right and stage left vs house right and left.
I wish I could find a tutorial that actually helps learn how to edit a video. This is great, but it's too fast and more of an overview preventing me from actually being able to learn it. Ugh...
There is so much to adobe (I literally just started editing my channel) and what I found most helpful is to look up each individual step. For example: how to upload into AP, how to make cuts, how to add transitions. I have yet to find one video that covers everything so that's what I've found most helpful
Hey guys. I thought I would mention I found THE HG Tutorial for 1 YT video! It is amazing and even has a downloadable sheet. It is incredible! The Channel is called "Adobe Video & Motion" and the Title is called "Get Started with Adobe Premiere Pro w/ Valentina Vee"
@@trinagreenfield5198 ah Trina, I searched for your comment to tell you I found a HG video that teaches everything for Adobe in 1 video. I just commented it below so hopefully it's helpful for ya. I am using so many of her tips for my next video and am only a few min in so far
Other video editing programs are fundamentally the same? I am really trying to look for the right one for me, price and simplicity are the two main factors.
Thanks Sean! This helps! I just started editing my video yesterday. I am used to music production and audio editing. So this is similar, but with video adding in. Thanks!
No Sean, this is too much for me. Very confusing, I cant really see what your doing. Whats the white words...too small, and your clicking around too fast. I didnt get it
I totally agree. I feel like this software is something you almost needs to have grown up using. LOL! Everything is so small, and there are so many buttons, its like WTF. Anyways, I agree with you so much. I feel like no matter what I do, I wont be able to make a good edited video. I mean he has Intros, Outros, Transitions. UGH. this sucks.
I use Sony Vegas, I really need to get the basics as a 3 min video is taking about 2 hours to edit. That’s time I could spend making content. Great video as always Sean👍
I don't know how any BEGINNER can learn anything from this video. I could barely see your cursor moving. I am going to watch your thumbnail video, hope it's not that fast man.

As he said in the video, "This is not an in depth tutorial." you can use other software, to edit your videos. You can always rewind and at least you get the general concepts. If you want to use premier, UA-cam has other in depth tutorials for you to watch.

I wish I could find a tutorial that actually helps learn how to edit a video. This is great, but it's too fast and more of an overview preventing me from actually being able to learn it. Ugh...
yep 4 minutes in and I was lost.
There is so much to adobe (I literally just started editing my channel) and what I found most helpful is to look up each individual step. For example: how to upload into AP, how to make cuts, how to add transitions. I have yet to find one video that covers everything so that's what I've found most helpful
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup Exactly!
I have been using Cyberlink Power Director 17. I have been considering Adobe Premier, not sure i am ready to make the jump.
Imagine editing a video about video editing in which you are editing a video, how was the Experience Sean??
Hi Shaun , l have a problem with my laptop recognizing my SD cards?
Such a great tutorial Sean! I love premier pro for editing. So many great takeaways! I especially love the hot keys you shared. So awesome! 🔥
Other video editing programs are fundamentally the same? I am really trying to look for the right one for me, price and simplicity are the two main factors.
Ive been absolutely loving this series Sean. Thank you for all the great tips✌🏽
Hey Sean why not use a compressor to keep your audio more level?
This really helps. Thank you ❤

Thanks Sean! This helps! I just started editing my video yesterday. I am used to music production and audio editing. So this is similar, but with video adding in. Thanks!
OK
So much to learn making youtube videos 📹 its overwhelming ! New respect for film makers 🙏
UGH. this sucks.
The entire series has been really useful to me, thanks for sharing. Liked & subscribed.
Okay, you moved WAYY to fast for someone out there that may be just starting.
I use Davinci Resolve 15 for my edits. Thanks for all that you do. Without your inspiration, I would still be holding off and worried that I am not ready to jump into my channel. My passion is sharing the history, love and excitement of classic vehicles with current and future generations to come. Thanks for all of the amazing advice! I truly have you to thank for pushing me over the edge to start making content!
I am planning to use Davinci Resolve 15 to edit. Did you find the learning curve difficult?
Lol you have no videos
I'm sorry, you just kept speeding through things. I didnt understand any of it :(
As he said in the video, "This is not an in depth tutorial." you can use other software, to edit your videos. You can always rewind and at least you get the general concepts. If you want to use premier, UA-cam has other in depth tutorials for you to watch.
So true on the audio that it’s probably my number one thing that keeps me on the channel or not if the content is good

Thanks for the video Sean. I love it when you upload new stuff. Because of #thinkmedia I got back into teaching filmmaking and now my channel is growing fast. Stop by and check me out soon!
GREENLIGHT-ADFW [Filmmaking Channel] yes ever since I had switched over from final cut sevento Premier pro when Final Cut X came out. I have been getting the feeling of a new life with #filmmaking

What buttons are you pushing after deleting the clips where you messed up to get them to meet back up again?
Brother great channel, love the content. One thing man, leg me cut your hair! Need that crispiness brother. Msg me if interested 😊 keep up the AMAZING WORK!
What are the dimensions for youtube video icons in your end screen template?
Your going so fast, and this is quite complicated. I'm lost.
One of the benefits of videos is the ability to pause, go back and watch the section over and over until you get it.
In everything learning, use the divide and conquer method. Work on one section at a time until you have it down and then move unto the next section.
I just started youtube and this is very helpful . Thank you sooo much Think media for creating this video 😄
For beginners???? You go way too fast.
One thing I have come to realize is that video editing is a skill that cannot be perfected over night. Hope this helps
Is laptop or desktop best for video editing? And please which budget laptop can edit 4k video and can run every editing app like all Adobe?
Thank you
Thanks for this video, it has helped jump start my productions and they now get better with each release.
I am currently using Premiere Pro. About a month or so in and this definitely helps Thank you!
I been watching all your videos cause you explain things the easiest ,,,, but thanks Ill be watching more of your videos tomorrow lol learning
It's good to see a video where the UA-camr isn't trying to sell you their courses, thank you for sharing your knowledge
i prefer a simple program to edit my youtube fitness videos do you recomend filmora ?
I am currently using Animotica for our Football podcast.
I want to start using ShotCut for our Football page, my classroom, and personal videos.
Thanks for the 4 part series!
Do you need to buy an SD card reader to transfer videos to your laptop?
Thanks Sean!! Amazing video, so helpful!! 😊
