I have no clue why youtube decided that I, a finnish person, might want to know about rural ontario swing bridges... But here we are. And somehow UA-cam wasn't wrong. Keep up the intresting videos coming!
This is fantastic. I'm planning a visit to Manitoulin and got to reading about the tenuous link to the mainland, and your videos fill in so much context and history! Not to mention great visuals, and the occasional flight of hypothetical-railroad fantasy, altogether a splendid way to explore a topic.
I sincerely hope your computer issues get resolved to your satisfaction, Warren! We (every Ontarian!) needs to be aware of the history you're uncovering and presenting. I remember the wooden ark that Ontario Northland used to use before the Chi-Cheemaun. It was an extremely frightening voyage from Tobermory to South Baymouth, even in calm weather!! Maybe a suggestion for a future video? Best wishes to you, and thanks for the mention at the beginning of this video. LOL Stay well!!
Thank you, Karl! The Norisle, one of the previous ferries, is still in the water in Manitowaning, so well worth your visit when you come up to see the swing bridge.
@@WarrenTheReporter OMG! It's still *AFLOAT!?* It was barely holding its own back in the 1970s! ROFL. I guess I will have to visit her and pay my respects. Thanks for your reply!
I mean, I hear it slowly drops to the bottom every now and then and they have to pump out the water, but I've never actually witnessed that for myself so it may have just been a one-off long ago that's become part of the local lore! But there's been talks for decades of how the town could finally get rid of the boat, so its days are certainly numbered (or at least, as fast as government can operate, no further comment 😶)
If this video style is a wrong, then I don’t want you to be right 😮 please walk me through a forest, teach me, then cover my face with your note book 📚
I felt like I was on the hike with you Warren. Thanks for all the extra info on the Little Current Swing Bridge. Love your channel.
Thanks as always, Angela!
Not gonna lie, I kinda like this style of Footnotes more. Very laid back!
Noted! Perhaps there will be more walks in my future 🤔

That's very kind, thank you! I hope you have a wonderful trip; I was lucky to live there for a few years and still miss it very much.
